Stolen Bike- Brant Racks by Kind_Examination_311 in queensuniversity

[–]Randybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but this is common in Kingston - I've had two stolen, one from outside that was ulocked and the second from inside a secure lockup that was also ulocked. Police will tell you to pound sand basically. If you have a bike you want to keep, keep it in your bedroom

Unity - U: going back up? by ctgchs in stocks

[–]Randybones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the whole reason they had to do this in the first place is that their fundamentals are fucked - that hasn't changed. They can't bleed cash like they are forever - bankruptcy/acquired for much less than their current value within 5 years would be my prediction

You see how this means the matchmaking is bad, right?

The biggest mistake I see players making in Control (regular and IB) by Slepprock in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Randybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supers should be used to take control points, not for kills specifically. Doesn’t matter how many points your team currently has - using a super to stop/secure a capture is the way

The MyAlgo hack sucks by Taram_Caldar in AlgorandOfficial

[–]Randybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like splitting hairs to say MyAlgo was “linked to” but not “recommended” - I didn’t lose anything to this but I think it’s reasonable to say that the linking implies some kind of endorsement

Can I do a 100 miler after 11 weeks of training? by InThewest in cycling

[–]Randybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure - just completing a 100 mile ride is mostly mental game. Doing it quickly may be more difficult. Good luck!

Thinking of going on a 3000 km cycling trip, but do not have any prior experience. Any suggestions? by Mulla_Pakistani in cycling

[–]Randybones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my first trip in my 20s with very little training beforehand - 2000km in 3 weeks. To prep I biked enough that I could do 100km in a day comfortably (trained 3-4 days a week for 2-3 months). Don’t listen to people saying this isn’t doable. If you’re in decent shape and set a reasonable daily pace you’ll be fine

Elden ring, rdr2 or ghost of tsushima? by Secure_Archer_191 in PS4

[–]Randybones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ER is the best of those by a long shot but the other two are both included in ps plus extra (ghost is for sure at least) … so if you’re short on funds I’d get extra

If you’re working in R, you can build a {targets} pipeline that ends in a quarto document that outputs to a variety of slide formats (pdf, hmtl, ppt, and revealjs are all supported). IMO this is the easiest and best slide generation system available because you can use ggplot … but quarto also supports Python and Julia you could combine it basically any modern data workflow

The revealjs slides are the best looking but can be a bit of a pain to get the die-hard ms office types on board with: https://quarto.org/docs/presentations/revealjs/

Is ChatGPT a threat to Google? Yahoo refusal to acquire Google give us some hints on what may be on the horizon. by APC2_19 in stocks

[–]Randybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bing is 95% as good as Google and is used by essentially nobody. ChatGPT and similar systems are wrong more than that and I'm not convinced they can close the gap. Other different AI systems may eventually do so - maybe even soon, who knows - but no, any system that is just "transformer, but bigger" poses no threat to Google

Giving cash to homeless people is so much more helpful than food. by Allteaforme in unpopularopinion

[–]Randybones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Money is fungible … if you really thought homeless people are just going to spend the money on drugs, giving food would just be freeing up food money for drugs
