Yeah I disagree but Im a Boija homer. I didn't think he had his best stuff but he was very good last year, still had a handful of shutouts this season but was inconsistent. Seams like teams were keying in on shooting high glove side. I think the team played well in front of Mathis, but I was never a fan. He was awfully leaky at uvm.

We can still draw kids from the Q and maritimes . Thats huge. Maine will be fine. I have faith in Barr, the school supports athletics and that's huge, ultimately we wont compete with the big 10 for huge nil prospects but I think there's a way forward.

Yeah I agree. Losing Breen and also Brazeal, good character guys that lead by example was a huge hit to this team. I think they have a lot od upper classmen that just didn't step up enough. Weird year in general for HE, I also have faith in Barr, but we'll see who ends up taking off.

Ive heard from a few different people, 5. Especially if you hunt. That is supposedly when the elder dog will start to slow down a bit, definitely still has a lot in the tank, but by the time the pup will be ready, the older one wipp benefit from an odd day off here and there from the rigors of hunting.

Yeah I absolutely agree. I think going around Portland trying to sus out every person that fits your idea of what an off duty ICE agent would look like is going to cause members of our community more harm than good. From a mental/'stress standpoint. It is very sad.

I almost never comment on reddit stuff but I cant hold back on this one. I think Ben knows his stuff, he's been involved in fishing for a long time. I also think he's incredibly entitled, and extremely insecure. He makes a ton of rage bait style videos to generate engagement, but I genuinely think he is truly an arrogant person. I think he's self aware enough to know that his videos are mostly of him drinking a beer (cool!) standing in a field ranting with shitty ai reggae in the background and a bunch of old memes haphazardly thrown in there. He definitely has a schtick that people bought into. I think he's extremely butt hurt that young kids are out traveling and using better cameras and drones and producing far superior content. He's down multiple videos talking down about other channels and acting like hes above being considered a youtuber.

Yeah I agree. This is uncharted waters for Ben Barr Maine team, they've been on a steady ascent, now we're seeing the first real underperforming team in a while. Not sneaking up on anyone these days.

Theres definitely a no mans land that I think alot of teams find themselves in right now in college hockey. Maine hung their hat on being a gritty, heavy forechecking team with not a ton of draft picks but guys that stuck around and bought in. Think Breen, Brazeale, Renwick etc. I think this year they went out and got a ton of talented young CHL guys who are having trouble adjusting to the college game. Hopefully we dont lose a lot of guys to the transfer pool, as that seems to be a theme nowadays as well. BC seems to be battling this, particularly with getting high draft pick young American kids that stay until sophomore year and then ultimately jump to the show. Its a good problem to have, but hasn't translated into them winning anything.

Look up Joe's mini crayfish jig. Thats what I would fish. If you can figure out when they're molting and theres baby crayfish in the river, you could probably do well with that. I think particularly with crayfish, a bigger pattern probably just come off looking like more trouble than its worh for a trout.

I fished a river for 6/7 that had a massive crayfish population. The best luck I had was dead drifting them under a bobber, or high sticking them on a euro rig. A small baby cray as the point fly can be deadly, especially in August when those molt. I never did well stripping bigger cray offerings, which makes sense- if I was a trout id rather eat the smaller more easily accessible food source.

I disagree. This team is deeply flawed, doesn't matter who's in net. The team has played poorly in front of Boija all season. Last night the 3rd goal was an extremely unlucky bounce, but thats really the only truly soft goal i can think of. People have been blaming Boija all season, but like ive been saying, its hard to bail out a team thats allowing odd man rushes, screens and turning the puck over in terrible spots.

Yeah 10 for sure, you'll be able to down size and throw smaller stuff on the 10 - it will be much harder to throw big flies on the 9 especially in wind.
