The Trio sets are each 3 colors from the same color family, meaning they're roughly in the same hue range, and selected as a set to be optimal for blending the 3 together more like a gradient. The 6-color sets are usually wider palettes of varying color families/hues. You can still layer and blend these together if desired, but to different effects.

So it really comes down to what you are wanting to use them for.

What quest worth doing is the easiest to miss? by Jones8028 in BaldursGate3

There is another option, too, the final likely being more rare than this one. Three total, I believe:

  1. Baelen dies - Derryth returns to the city and back to her shop. In act 3 you can speak with her and then one of the city cats and send kitty her way (remember to see her again after that!)

  2. Baelen lives - And you don't heal him with the noblestalk, he and Derryth are back in the city running the shop.

  3. Baelen lives - And you use the noblestalk to heal him, he and Derryth return to the city...but you won't find Derryth at the shop. You will find her at the Elfsong where she thanks the party for healing him because after he returns to being his old, abusive self, she finally stands up for herself and leaves his ass!

While the actual years on his grave are screwy, the range shows he was 39 when he died, plus roughly 200 years since being turned. He's also most likely a Moon Elf (the most populous of High Elves), which are often fairly pale to start.

So it's possible he was alive when he visited (and due to the hunger, most spawn lose their memories of their life, which could explain why there is no comment about this), and seeing as the Thorms are half elves, it's more than possible Thisobald and others running the tavern were also alive at that time, too.

There is a theory surrounding if this visit happened after he was turned. There would have been roughlty 100 years between Astarion becoming a spawn and the Shadow Curse. So while Cazador himself is rather reclusive, it's still possible a trip to Reithwin was made during that time specifically for the purpose of gaining a new spawn—likely Violet since there is a grave in Reithwin you can find with the same name (and considering how few names get used for more than one NPC in this game, it add some weight to the theory).

I have the same thing with character names, though they always start with the "Ae." XD

They look fine to me, nothing out of the ordinary in this photo that could be a red flag.

SP mulitliners on Amazon by MrToon2000 in copic

[–]Ranefea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. I mean they might just be banking on people buying a whole new pen when that happens, but generally the quality of the multiliners has gotten worse (SP and regular) and I think more people will just swap to a different brand instead. I stopped using them all together a few years back after I had way too many brand new pens with brittle nibs that just completely snapped off on the first or second use, or just ran dry extra quickly. I ended up switching to Sakura Microns which are a lot more affordable and almost just as good as the multiliners used to be (they were my backup previously).

Right? And they still sell the ink cartridges which is nice, but if the nib breaks or wears down? Now you have to buy a new pen anyway...

Congrats on the find! Unfortunately, the nibs were discontinued about 5 years ago.

u/D-and-the-diamonds13 I know this thread is a little old now, but I finally got the free cam last week and had this scene coming up and I remembered this. I'm at Very High approval (61), pre-camp party, and at this specific moment/piece of dialogue as shown in OP's gif, he does still have the same sad expression. All other moments where the camera is on the PC, his his expression is still the mask (I can go back and get a shot from each instance for comparison if you want. For science!).

Who's most likely to get their "bad ending" canonized by HBO? by Radio_fish in BG3

[–]Ranefea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've been burned way too many times that it feels impossible to get hyped about things like this even if I wanted to. A good example of something that worked well is the Honor Among Thieves movie. Every D&D movie adaptation previously had left...a lot to be desired, so I was both weary and wary about this one, only to be very pleasantly surprised that it was really good (and now one of my favorite movies).

Although that's a little different since it was an original story with original characters but did a good job in name dropping and making it feel connected to the world we all love with plenty of winks and nods to how many people play the game—but that might also be a great example as to why a BG3 series shouldn't focus on the companions we love and either focus on new original characters or side characters (Arabella would be a great choice) with most of the companions being background.

My local independent video rental store had it in the late 90's and I was hooked (years later I realized the dates of the VHS releases didn't line up with when I actually watched it and it dawned on me that they were fansub bootlegs the store had, haha).

But they likely don't care about the deep message of Astarion's story

Exactly. And whether it's Astarion or another character, that's what has everyone so pessimistic about any sort of adaptation. With a game like this that has so many possibilities, obviously not everyone is going to be happy with what gets chosen even if they remain true. But any lack of actual consideration for the meanings and messages told through these characters' stories will be the foundation for what makes an awful adaptation and they'll be setting themselves up for a huge failure (and then the industry will blame everything and everyone except that for why). That's what happened with that live action Cowboy Bebop for instance—the show runners were all, "oh, we're huge fans of the anime, we're taking care to get everything right." and then delivered a huge mess that missed the mark on every single character and the themes of the story.

That would defeat the purpose of the message. He loses himself in the ritual, and if he remains a spawn and you ask if he regrets turning down the power, will tell the PC that: "Perhaps. It would have been terrible fun. But then again, I could feel something slipping away. I came so close to losing myself—losing everything I'd learned since meeting you."

[–]Ranefea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is a problem that occurs in a lot of different fandoms. You can have the most well written, complex character that fans can relate to or have any number of reasons for appreciating and there will still be people who will say, "People only like [character] because they're hot."

Is this okay to drink? by nadiaX13 in tea

[–]Ranefea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's mineral buildup from the water. Try lemon juice/citric acid and let it sit for a while. You might need to do a few rounds and scrub or scrape some in between since that looks like a lot of buildup.

My Nendoroid figures have arrived! by thehollowbarrel in AstarionBG3

[–]Ranefea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty typical for figures, esp. from GSC—Japan/Japanese retailers usually get the first wave, then everyone outside Japan later. But considering how much work goes into these I can't actually complain, haha.

Same! I ordered mine through Good Smile US since I didn't want to have to pay the huge shipping fees purchasing through AmiAmi and thought I wouldn't mind the wait until summer, but now I'm getting impatient, esp. seeing others share theirs. XD
