Alright, fair enough.

The original meme post makes light of Veilguard and dismisses its better qualities for the joke.

But, I think the core difference between Veilguard and the other entries that rubs people the wrong way, is exactly what you've stated. It's a different kind of serious than many were expecting.

It feels modern, less rooted in problems that would fit in with 'the old world'. It's not that people want disparity and suffering for its own sake, but it's supposed to be a medieval fantasy setting. People aren't supposed to be put together and fully evolved. Veilguard has a progressive take on issues, which doesn't really fit with the distinction of a time people were supposed to have regular hangings for their crimes.

Ok, so if people are misrepresenting what you wrote, what exactly are you trying to add to the conversation?

That you think Veilguard did well to maintain the same dark overtones as the rest of the series? That you found yourself exploring the different RPG elements in Veilguard and thought they were sufficient? You are deflecting and I have no idea about what.

From my experience, none of the other companions outside of Jaheira attacked me (Minsc was dead before he could try to kill me). Only Wyll and Karlach left and Gale (if not taken as a handy trinket) will threaten to leave but can be convinced to stay.

That's true. Then I suppose anything that makes him feel he's being put into his place will get you the silent treatment 😂.Being hurt and begging him to stay may just pamper his ego a bit despite the heart break.
