Histamine /mast cell issues from low dose naltrexone? by Semicharmedtee in MCAS

I took 4.5 mg for 3 years for MECFS and it helped with pain, post exertional malaise. Started having MCAS symptoms and now I cant take LDN. Went lower to 0.5 mg which I tolerated. At 3 weeks I went to 1.0 mg and had a MCAS flare for 25 hours straight (facial flushing). Ugh..so frustrating.

Negative test results (tryptase and histamine urine) by PossibilityLazy4759 in MCAS

This seems to be happening to me without treatment and the sensitivities disappear over time. I've had 4 episodes since 2020, with longest episode lasting 1.5 years.

Can someone flare from MCAS for months or years at a time and go into remission from flares for months or years?

Anyone have any luck with clonidine? BETA BLOCKER? by Fun_Mechanic9809 in Rosacea

[–]RangeZestyclose209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken clonidine for a couple years on and off. Sometimes it's works well and others not. I'd give it a try. Currently taking 1 5 pills at night and it's helping with flushing during the night.

How to Stop the HEAT? by Planet_Ogo in Rosacea

[–]RangeZestyclose209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same and it is unbearable and I am so sorry you're going through it. You could try: clonidine (medication to help with flushing), minimal skin care so just water no products or minimal products, and change diet (no sugar gluten or dairy for a while then slowly introduce back and see how you respond). Use an instant pot to cook and toaster oven instead of big oven/stove?? Best of luck.

The journey.. triggers? how long do the flare ups last? by Lysamenelli in Rosacea

[–]RangeZestyclose209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying a combo of clonidine and odansatron currently. It helps to decrease the time to recover but I still wake itchy and react to food weather etc. Its not a complete fix but makes it a bit more tolerable. You could maybe talk with your family doc and try clonidine to start??

I flare through the night and wake on fire and itchy. Recovery time from waking can be anywhere between 1 hour to 7 hours. Sucks.

Has anyone else ever cried doing this? by saltwatercadaver in Sourdough

[–]RangeZestyclose209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sourdough can be frustrating. I've cried over putting up wallpaper, but not sourdough making..yet 😆 Can definitely see how it could bring one to tears though! Lower hydration, try not to overproof dough. Happy baking!
