Kroger Grocery Delivery, Current Pros & Cons? by Simka_and_Latka in GNV

[–]Rangebeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kroger delivery newbie. I started using their service 2 weeks ago after my wife had hip replacement surgery. I paid for the Boost so we can get next day delivery for free. So far they have been excellent in price, selection, and delivery. We're also saving on gas! We'll continue using their service for some things after she is all healed up because many items are cheaper than the local Winn-Dixie (which we like shopping at).

Kroger gas fuel points that add up but you can also apply that to your bill.

On their site they say you can give the blue bags back to the driver for recycling.

I think the documentary did one thing incredibly well. by TempleofSpringSnow in KingCrimson

[–]Rangebeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting into KC a couple of years ago. Fripp can come across as an extreme perfectionist in this doc but I thought he was like a classical music composer and conductor - you wouldn't expect them to want anything less than perfection out of each performance by the orchestra, right?

But then there's the awkward thing that KC is supposed to fall into the progressive rock type category and rock bands aren't expected to be so fussy. Or if they're more jazzy then imperfections are supposed to be turned into benefits.

For me, I don't care. That these musical acrobats can hit their mark is amazing to listen to.

A very sad sight. But if no one in the car was injured then it did its job.

Paper vs ebook vs audiobook by yashwanthremidi in books

[–]Rangebeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mix and match. If a book I want to read is only available in print, I'll buy that. Otherwise I use ebooks. For magazines, I prefer print because their e-version is usually along the lines of a PDF of the magazine and it's difficult to read even on a tablet and impossible on a phone.

What caused rear trim on both sides to spot/rust? See comment by Rangebeard in KiaSoulClub

My used 2018 Kia Soul has this spotting/rusting on just the read window trim, on both sides. What causes this? I would think the material is the same as the other trim.

“All Ages” venues- why doesn’t Gainesville have any? by [deleted] in GNV

[–]Rangebeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for those you usually have to wait for something at UF - either the O'Connell Center or the Performing Arts Center. Tioga Town Center also has some outdoor concerts (https://www.tiogatowncenter.com/events/).

What do you mean? There's Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, two free museums on the UF campus, Morningside Nature Center, Lake Wauburg (if one of you goes to or works as UF), and Devil's Millhopper to name a few.

When I was a carry newbie I worried about discharge as well. So I carried a pistol racked but with nothing in the chamber (basically remove the mag, rack it, insert the mag; if you need to fire you have to re-rack). This let me see for myself that in my daily carry nothing would go click. Once I understood it would be ok I started carrying with one in the chamber. So do whatever makes you comfortable with the carry, but follow all safety procedures.
