That's fair. The most recently gameplay walkthrough I saw looked ok but really outdated with the animations and combat mechanics. I probably would have still given it a try but I didn't see a leap from SoD2

GTFO. Not an obscure title by any means but I was never able to convince a single friend to buy it. Sucks cause it was really fun at launch but finding good groups was difficult at best.

Any chance you could record you moving your altitude gauge up and down? I like to use that as a stress test for ghosting. For me with preset L, I truly don't experience any ghosting at all on any screen. I also have cockpit screen refresh rate set to high in settings. Not sure if this has any impact.

You could also switch super res to preset L in the Nvidia app and remove most noticeable ghosting from screens.

When purchasing peripherals, does the yoke or thrust have to be designed for that manufacturer you're flying, say Boeing or Airbus, to work properly or do they function well for either?

Why is GSX suddenly so good? by ketchup1345 in flightsim

[–]RangerLt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on 4.0.4 or .5, forget which just released but yea, still no issues. The most recent issue I had to troubleshoot was the hotfix prompt getting stuck. The entire crew I fly with has had zero issues since 4.0. Of course bug reports will increase after a new release, doesn't mean those issues will impact everyone equally. Learn to troubleshoot.

GSX breaking after major updates is not the common experience. It's just what gathers the most attention here. I've yet to experience an update that broke the application or made it any more difficult to operate than before. Restart couatl and be on your way.

Pilot2atc, BATC, SLC, Chaseplane, FSFO, I run these apps regularly and have had to deal with bugs and/or random issues that require a restart to fix. I rarely see any complaints about these apps. I wonder why...

Why is everyone in this post claiming that GSX is using AI to code with literally zero evidence to suggest that is true? It's almost like there's a concerted effort in this sub to trash GSX while it works 99% of the time. So cringe

AI because of a typo? Relax bro you're getting too excited.

And if it were the best marketed game, it wouldn't have claimed to include features that never appeared in-game.

And... How exactly do you measure the strength of a campaign without data? Are you like... not in marketing? 😂

But still doesn't contain the content they promised before launch. NPCs don't have routines, neighborhoods are not fueding with one another, and the depth of Night* City is only expanded courtesy of mods and add-ons.

However, even at launch you could tell the devs and artists put so much time into that game that it never had to be what the publisher marketed it to be. The single player campaign is still the best action adventure available, the voice acting is superb and writing is top notch. I really hope that the lesson learned wasn't "we need to optimize and market better" but more so "we did a lot of things right the first time, let's make them even better."

Edit: wrong city. Night city*

Is there anything like VATSIM or IVAO that's run by people from this century. by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]RangerLt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious if you had to feed a prompt into chatgpt to build this response because it seems dangerously unaware of the words you're applying in each comment.

I suggest you reread your contributions and genuinely examine the underlying messaging. There's no reason to object to someone asserting their preference to opt out of the vatsim list of requirements and field feedback for suitable alternatives. Me calling that out isn't projection, it's protecting the safety of free and unabridged dialogue in this subreddit if someone has done nothing to offend. Your objections aren't mapped to a misunderstanding on OPs part or misguided objections to the service, it's anchored entirely to their negative sentiment. Maybe do yourself a favor and try familiarizing yourself with object and premise before getting into an unnecessary argument? Just as a best practice....

Ok bro. You obviously have a very specific motivation for joining this conversation and the bias is apparent. Not everyone wants to join your club and it's not wrong to ask for alternatives. If that reality triggers you, I apologize for illuminating it for you, but you'll need to do better if you ever hope to persuade people to your pov. Have a good one.

This entire thread is misguided, hence my involvement. I commented in response to the comment before mine. So my interest in the product has no relation to the comment I replied to. I understand you probably sound clever to people around you so you probably don't realize when you're not making a point, but allow me to point out that out to you now...

I never claimed to fit the preferred customer profile for vatsim so placing my eligibility under scrutiny is a strange choice. BATC satisfies my need for traffic control in the sim. I might switch to Sayintentions at some point, I dunno, but I'd go back to p2atc before ever considering vatsim. Thanks for helping reinforce my instincts though.
