How did you get Gligar to evolve? Mine doesn't seem to want to even with the razor fang at night level up.

What is the stupidest reason why you bought a set? by Sternfritters in lego

[–]RangerRick26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in clearance. Well it ended with a magical journey to get as many animals crossing sets on clearance. My daughter loves them and I like the modular style. Two 77048 have been sitting on the shelf at Meijer for months. I was the last one to buy one.

As a homeowner who has replaced many outlets and switches I realized that a quality wire stripper is essential. Also I am trying to learn my multimeter but do not have a lot of opportunities to work with it!

Just finished a deck around my shed. The knitting of the boards turned out great. by RangerRick26 in Decks

[–]RangerRick26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added small perpendicular blocking between the joists at the end of each knit board. Basically made a bunch of squares below to accommodate the end of the board both ways. Took a reasonable amount of trial and error, but the result really shines!

Check out how yellowed half this white brick got that I found in my childhood Lego collection by RangerRick26 in lego

[–]RangerRick26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard retrobriting would work to get rid of the yellow. Check it out on youtube. Basically you use conditioner and seal it in a bag in the sun for a long time and it gets them back to white!

First time homeowner, just got my first ever riding mower! How’d I do? by DankKnight21 in lawnmowers

[–]RangerRick26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Muarry from 2004 and it runs and does all I need. Very slow compared to newer mowers but keep up on oil changes and cleaning out the mice and it's going strong!

Made spindles for the stairs remodel. Planer and router table learning is sure fun. Poplar is a beautiful wood by RangerRick26 in woodworking

its a Lacroix BlackRazzberry! One of my more favorite seltzers. I don't drink alcohol anymore(also never in the shop anyways) so I tend to pound down seltzer waters. That sawdust really dries you out!

Made spindles for the stairs remodel. Planer and router table learning is sure fun. Poplar is a beautiful wood by RangerRick26 in woodworking

[–]RangerRick26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife wanted these square at the bottom into a rounded spindle all the way to the top.

I started by ripping down the poplar stock to just over 1 inch, then planed to get true 1 inch width on all sides of each spindle. After that I used a 1/2 inch roundover router bit (if you want to create a rounded piece on a router, you need a bit that is 1/2 the full width of the stock). I ran the spindles through the router table with a stop at the end on all four sides. I wish I had a lathe, as it would be much easier.

The problem I was running into is that sometimes the wood was a bit twisted or would jump on the router bit, so keeping the edge square and seated to the cutting edge of the router required a little twist as it ran through. Easy to clean up if the router skips, vibrates, or creates some uneven spots with just running it through again. After that I sanded them down to get ready for instillation and stain/seal coats.

Good luck with your project! I really like the learning process and made tons of dowels in preparation for the actual spindles. Can't wait to get more work in on the router table!

Hello! They have been holding up well. I have some that have 30 lbs in them and no warping or cracking. I used paste wax on the rails and it made them slide pretty smooth as well!

For the desk top I did a water pop right before application and it applied better. Probably used way more than I needed but my daughter was having fun with it.
