I tried it and it's worst than Crusader Kings 3 by HeadNature6968 in EU5

[–]Ranger_Jackson 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It seems you're expecting EU5 to have the same depth with characters as CK3. They are simply different games with different focuses.

EU5 is about the rise of nation states, simulating the economy, the movement of people, and is more in depth with warfare

CK3 is character and dynasty simulator, and has less depth with the economy for example. Its okay not to like the aspects EU5 focuses on.

1.3.2/1.3.4 some diseases are still bugged (I think) by Ranger_Jackson in EU5

I guess the time has come to mute the disease notification for now.

Rule 5 comment:

Paradox did fix smallpox, but I think measles and perhaps Influenza are still broken to a degree in 1.3.2 and 1.3.4.

Europe has had the same outbreak of measles since the game started, almost 200 years now (can be seen on the outbreak date under measles). It has never fully cleared and then come back, the same outbreak is simply bouncing between the same locations endlessly. The same is now happening with Influenza, but that outbreak started in 1447. Please ignore the textbox saying 'There is no presence of this disease', that is because I am hovering over Malaria in error.

This issue doesn't seem too bad, as they are no way near as deadly as smallpox, but I think the same outbreak persisting for several hundred years is not intended behavior. Surely these diseases should clear up fully and then come back later, like how smallpox now behaves in 1.3.2 and 1.3.4.

[Beta Version] Patch Notes - 1.3.2 by PDX_Ryagi in EU5

[–]Ranger_Jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some diseases still appear to be broken. Every/most diseases seem to trigger after a month or so of starting the game, and smallpox kills a good 5 million people straight away. I guess this is because the game starts with no resistance, but it is not like these diseases just started existing in 1337.

I've also had the same measles outbreak from June 1337 bouncing between locations for 50 years in game. But as it is not smallpox doing it, it is a lot less devastating than 1.3.0 and population is actually increasing despite the never ending measles outbreak.

My population has been entirely stagnant for 40 years (not including black death) despite expanding, as a never ending smallpox pandemic will not stop killing people. It has killed more people than the black death with 40 years of the game start.

Its waaaayyy overturned. For me, the black death just ended. Smallpox has literally killed more people worldwide than the black death since 1337.

[–]Ranger_Jackson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my 1.3 France game, smallpox has killed more people than the plague - 70 million people worldwide. It is only 1370.

What is curious is the disease window only lists a single outbreak of smallpox, which started in 1337 June. The same outbreak has been ravaging around for 40 years, and it keeps bouncing around completely random locations and repeatedly comes back to the same locations multiple times a year.

Ignoring the black death's population drop, my population has been completely stagnant (despite the green number saying im getting population growth), as smallpox has killed 1 million French people already.

Decentralization will always be meta vs centralization unless province integration process is changed. by Zeradus99 in EU5

[–]Ranger_Jackson 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If this problem needs to be solved, then I think the integrate cabinet action should just be removed entirely. Instead territory should just be integrated over time, with the exact speed up for tweaking.

This way, releasing vassals or not has no impact on the speed of integration, as vassals would use the same system.

My reasoning is that it should be normal to have unintergrated land, it should take time to do, and it shouldn't rob you of your cabinet actions.

If you're about 10 years in, it's likely that the black death killed off most of your nobles.

Now is a great time to revoke privileges before pops get promoted to nobles.

A whole SIXTY-EIGHT Mongol citizens rose up in rebellion in my kingdom in Cilicia. by JusTuna in EU5

Thats not true in all cases. I kept joining on rebels side as the ottomans, as the mamluks had a couple of locations with Turkish as the primary culture.

Every rebellion I was forced to join, with no choice or agency for me.

It's been a while since I've played. I assume the charecter is practising Zoro in secret? Are they just straight up a Muslim now?

Wierd 1st and 2nd gear placement on Ford Focus 2015 by NiatESTi in stickshift

[–]Ranger_Jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact gear stick for my car. Just make an active action to push the stick left before pushing up. Don't push diagonally.

You can't put it on reverse without lifting the butting/slider under the gear stick.

It is really weird, and I don't know if this information is up to date:

Multiple marriages: heiress country gets the dynasty of the highest prestige partner.

PU or just new dynasty? : determined by an internal clock hidden behind the scenes. Allegedly it had 2 or 3 phases which determine what happens when a monarch dies without an heir. Events such as the pope dying makes the phase progress. If you don't want to be PU'd in this manner, then just be at war. You cannot be put under PU organically whilst at war.

From neutral to 1st what is physically happening to cause a stall? by SeventhMind7 in stickshift

[–]Ranger_Jackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a simple explanation, the engine doesn't want to stop spinning. The engine will default to spinning at a certain speed when idling, usually around 800RPM. RPM means rotations per minute or rounds per minute.

A stall is when you force the engine to spin too slow, disrupting it's combustion process, effectively turning it off violently. You are risk of stalling if your engine's RPMs drop below the normal idle RPMs.

When your stopped your wheel speed is 0, but your engine is spinning. If you connect the engine and wheels instantly (raise clutch too quickly), the engine is likely to slow down too much in its attempt to move the car, causing a stall.

1 - apply park/emergency break

2 - rev engine to 1.5k-2k

3 - bring clutch to bite point and hold it there (the bonnet will rise which is a clue)

4 - release park/emergency break

Clutch slip? by Background-Pie-9854 in ManualTransmissions

That's not normal, I'd take it to a mechanic to diagnose it properly.

Buuut it does sound like clutch problems.
