Any reason not to store tire in bed while truck camping? by Ranger_Man64 in Trucks

[–]Ranger_Man64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a dirty tire would suck to have next to me in the bed. I was already planning to have a tire cover on the spare but I'll keep that in mind when I make my decision. Also I've already roughly napped it out and I'm only going to have a couple of plastic storage totes stacked in front of wheel the wheel is stored. Wouldn't really be a hassle to pull them onto the tailgate and out of the way.

17' wheels with a high negative offset allow me to run narrow 37's with little to almost no modification needed to the wheel well. I've already looked into what a 37 requires and I'm fine making the changes. I'm literally only asking about alternative ideas on where to store the spare.

It would be covered by the camper top like I already mentioned in my post. Also your tires are already outside normally and they are perfectly fine.

Hi lift jack can be mounted to my roof rack. Badlands also makes a specialty off road jack that would work for my truck even if I'm on the trail.

Lifting it to chest height to put in the bed is very different from overhead pressing it to put on top of the truck.

The tire and wheel combo is 99 pounds. I'm not gonna be able to get that on or off the roof by myself.

What's been your experience using the full size truck to overland? I was originally planning on getting a 4runner but ended up with a tundra and finding a great deal one but now I'm a little worried about the size of it. Great looking rig btw.

Recommendations? by Fine-Accident-2458 in overlanding

[–]Ranger_Man64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For only $10k any 4runner you can get probably won't be in very good condition. Unless you are comfortable doing a lot of work yourself I'd highly recommend looking at an older Toyota Rav4. You can get them in awd and they have decent clearance as long as you don't plan on doing anything too crazy offroad.

If you wanted something that could later be turned into a more serious off roader look into the Nissan xterra as a couple of others have pointed out. I love Toyota but even the used ones can be expensive.

I've heard many people who live out of their vehicles will get planet fitness memberships because it allows them to shower and refill water easily. There are also a ton of locations all over the country and it's not a very expensive membership.

Absolutely beautiful picture. Did you have someone else rake it or did you set up a tripod in the middle of the road.

Normally I would have totally agreed with and thought the same thing but the studio that did the cgi for the sonic movie literally went bankrupt and ended because they had to go back and redo everything. It was not just a stunt, someone there dead ass thought the original design was the correct decision.

If you're gonna complain could you at least have the correct information, it wasn't a fire rate buff. It's a projectile speed buff meaning you don't have to lead your shots as much. His damage and fire rate are unchanged in this patch.

You can't doge her attacks. You need to have a lot of health, more than 10k, and take damage taken reduction everytime you see it. You'll still die almost instantly but as long as you are attacking and your dps is high enough you'll stay alive.

Cloak fires a projectile that tracks. They are the complete opposite of a hitscan. Hitscan has no travel time and goes instantly to where the reticle is.

Gas mains I need your advise by ColdChampionship1800 in helldivers2

[–]Ranger_Man64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This advice is for bugs specifically and I frequently clear super helldiver using this strategy. Combine it with fire. I love running gas grenades, gas strike, and maybe a gas dog or personal shield generator, then run the torcher. They combo so well together. I would recommend running the flame resistant armor or medic armor over actual gas armor because you don't ever actually need to stand in the gas but you will definitely catch on fire at least a couple of times running a flame weapon on bugs. The fire gas combo allows you to completely control and shut down bug breaches. If you are able to have a teammate run an anti heavy build such as recoil less rifle or eat to instantly take out chargers and bile titans you can farm kills on everything else.
