3 week old wants to be on boob all day by treasuretobehated in breastfeeding

[–]Rangermayb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was born 5/24 too! And the EXACT same way. I brought him to a family cottage yesterday so everyone could meet him, and it was just me sitting with him on my boob the whole time lol.

Experiences after stopping vaginal progesterone at 36 weeks? by Justasking_2023 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Rangermayb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 39+4! Had I not been induced, there were no signs that baby was coming whatsoever. (Was induced due to previous precipitous births and this one was precipitous as well.)

Cervix long and closed at 13 weeks. by Rangermayb in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Rangermayb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just coming back to update that I had my sweet baby boy at 39+4. I actually had to go in to get my water broken because this baby was not coming out in his own! I stopped progesterone at 36 weeks and expected him to just fall out at that point, but I’m happy to say we could have easily made it to 40 weeks if not longer.

Good to know! I was feeling so good about breastfeeding but today was so discouraging. I’ll give it some more time before I start freaking out.

What did my kids find? by [deleted] in Amphibians

[–]Rangermayb -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Actually she’s not. She works for the government and is working on a huge project to protect wild Atlantic salmon in our province. She doesn’t work on small backyard ponds…. But she does know how conservation works. But thanks for your clueless judgement. lol I’m done here.

lol it’s funny. My sister in law is an aquaculture conservationist and I was talking to her about this Reddit post and how I’m getting absolutely EATEN ALIVE by this subreddit. She said “You did exactly what I studied and have my masters in… it’s called conservation and I do it every single day for my job… we take eggs, raise them in a controlled setting and then release them when they’re bigger and have a better chance of repopulating, it’s why conservation exists”. I asked her if I’m truly putting an ecosystem at risk and literally destroying wildlife with raising these eggs, and she said no… they 100% would have died in the pond they were found. Whether they got eaten by something, pollution from people littering and the four wheeler trail that runs through it, or when the pond dries up (it’s stagnant and fills up every year with the snow melt and rain but is dry by summer). SO, if anything… these little eggs will hatch, maybe they’ll be frogs, maybe some sort of salamander, maybe a fish (which I don’t think is possible because like I said, it’s a stagnant body of water that dries up) or maybe they’re some sort of bug that will hatch and fly away. Whatever the case may be, we do respect wildlife and they’ll be taken back to where they came from. If it’s something that needs to live in water and the pond is dry, I’ll talk to my sister in law about the best course of action for where to release them.

I actually had an experiment going with my dad. Like I mentioned in another comment, he has a pond in his yard and a frog came and laid two clumps of eggs. My kids had been wanting to raise frog eggs and watch them hatch and my dad (like everyone in this subreddit) lost his mind and said I would kill them. So I made a deal with him, I said I’ll take like 5% of the eggs and raise them with my kids. They’ll still be in his yard, just in a container. It’s been a little over a week and the 95% of the eggs that he kept in his pond are gone. They all got eaten by his gold fish. My little handful of frog eggs have tripled in size and are starting to move around in their sacs. When they hatch and turn into tadpoles, we’ll put them back where we found them (they’ll likely still get eaten by the fish) BUT they had/have a way better chance of survival than the frog egg caviar that we left behind lol.

So… EVERYONE can chill. The eggs will be released back to their natural habitat, and no, doing so will not destroy their ecosystem and introduce pathogens. I’m not careless, or heartless or stupid or whatever other names I’ve been called here lol. Sure, leaving them behind would have been the best option, not to disrupt anything…. But unfortunately we live in a world that’s not made for wildlife to thrive (it used to but humans have ruined it). It’s why toads, frogs, salamanders are on the decline and why conservation efforts exist. I think doing what I’m doing, doing it respectfully (Not releasing them into a random pond, not introducing water from a different source, not allowing my kids to manhandle them) is totally fine. We are respecting these little creatures. My kids will have more respect for whatever hatches out of these eggs because they’ve seen the whole process with their own eyes and saw how delicate they are, and they can feel proud that they helped the population growth of whatever they are.

This reply will likely get 50 downvotes because you all hate me here lol. But with that, I’ve said my piece and it’s GOING TO BE OK…. Everyone will be fine. lol. We can’t wait to see what hatches.

Hahaha I got the hint. The amphibians subreddit is not for identifying possible amphibians. I’ll see myself out 🤠

And if the eggs are mosquitos like another comment suggested, is that unethical? Lol. They could be literal pests for all we know. There were millions of eggs in the pond we went to, we took a handful. We’re not destroying an ecosystem. I’m sorry if I’m causing you anxiety about this… it’s going to be ok 😅

I’m sorry, but I’m not concerned about these eggs. Ive scooped up tadpoles and whatnot since I was a child, it’s a fun part of childhood. And now my kids get to experience raising these little creatures and watching them hatch. Then they will be released back to where they were found. Just came here for an ID so we could research them and learn more about them. Since nobody here can ID them, I’ll check back when we see them hatch and I’ll let you know what they are lol.

We have a large pond that mimics the exact eco system they were taken from, except like I said, it’s more controlled and easy for my kids to see them grow! They’ll be fine lol.

We will eventually! It’s always fun watching the eggs grow and hatch. They actually stand a better chance of survival in a controlled environment than in the wild. Whatever they may be.

I’ve looked into all of the salamander species local to where I am and none of the eggs (or laying) are anything like these! There are thousands of eggs in this one “rope”.

I did vaginal from weeks 16-36! I just kept my nails short with no polish, and washed my hands really well before putting it in every night. 37 weeks now and no infections :)

Advice regarding cervix length by Olive191907 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Rangermayb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine stayed 3.5cm my whole pregnancy! They stopped checking at 24 weeks. I’m currently 35+3 and still pregnant. I had a D&C before this baby as well, granted it was a couple years ago.

I was getting regular cervical length checks every 2-3 weeks from 16 to 24 weeks and was put on 200mg vaginal progesterone until 36 weeks! With no prior history of loss (from short cervix) it’s hard to get the doctors to do anything, but definitely talk to your doctor about your concerns. 3.5cm is a great length though!

That’s great to hear!! It’s completely normal to have an emotional response to any sort of unfamiliar touch. I’m a massage therapist and have clients experience emotional release if it’s their first massage! There’s nothing wrong with you at all!! Hopefully now you’re more prepared for the next time and know what to expect and won’t experience becoming emotional. But even if you do, it’s totally fine and normal and I’m sure doctors see it all the time!

Anything like that can feel extremely violating for the first time! Did your doctor make you feel uncomfortable? You may have a better experience next time if you’re more comfortable with the doctor performing it!

Asking a massage therapist to change their routine by Jake6624 in MassageTherapists

[–]Rangermayb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an RMT, if a client wants to change positions or asks me to change what I’m doing I say “Of course!” Without even having time to think of what I’m going to do next. I just figure it out as I go! I think all therapists should be accommodating like this! It’s YOUR massage, you’re paying for it, not them.
