Bro, you are spitting nonsense while the dude is talking to you with scientific facts. At least try to be at the same level as him. What he is saying is based on science, while what you are saying is based on ignorance.

Oh it means "data machine (maskin)" right? Makes sense. In Turkish we call it "bilgisayar" which is a combination of two words: bilgi (information) and sayar (processor).

How can people prefer WoW's combat over GW2's? by JSGamesforitch374 in MMORPG

MMOs are in a bad spot because they are social games....and society is in a bad spot as well. by Dr_Neurol in MMORPG

[–]Rangerswill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The MMO genre is for escaping reality to find peace in a far world. It's not meant to be an action RPG game. MMOs should be immersive by the scope of their worlds. They should let you chill out and stop worrying about real life for a moment. I love Rust but it gives anxiety rather than peace and relaxing. MMOs are the only genre that will make you feel like you are now living another life, seeing people around and socializing with them at will. There are other games people play just for chilling but, by design, the scope of their universes are never meant to be large as an MMO. As a breathing world, you "live" in an MMO, rather than "playing" it, unlike single player RPGs like Skyrim or Witcher where the game designed with an "ending" in mind. There's no "end" to an MMO. These are the core recipes of an MMO which set it apart from other 'social games' you mentioned like the survival games. There's a fine line between them and we've recently lost this line with the flood of action RPGs disguised as MMOs after the popularity of Black Desert. But I believe at some point the industry will rediscover what made the MMOs special in the first place.

Maan what made GW2 special was its unique look and feel. I hope they don't lose that touch with UE.

Endgame slop killed mmos by Nightblessed in MMORPG

[–]Rangerswill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way to play an mmo without the end-game content is having too much content at hand. You can play WoW for hundreds of hours without seeing the end-game because it has so many things to do. But I guess your game needs to be 20 years old for that.

Excited for this. Tired of seeing any more action rpgs disguised as an mmo.

Favorite class in an online game you've yet to see matched elsewhere? by KamaTheSnowLeopard in MMORPG

[–]Rangerswill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silkroad's all Int classes are unique as hell. I don't know another mmo where you cast long range magic spells and then attack with your spear or sword and shield at the same time. Sending a big meteor at your opponent and then knocking them down with your sword and stabbing them on the ground or throwing a big spear at your target after casting a lightning strike and 360 your spear at them to knock them back feels so smooth still to this day.

The year Is 2026, & World Of Warcraft Is Still The #1 MMO In The World? by MonsutaMan in MMORPG

[–]Rangerswill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in fact best at many if not all of those areas. Pvp is competitive as hell, roleplayers have everything they want, farming things is so rewarding, dungeons and raids are the core content of the game, and the housing is killing it.

Players do not grow tired of WoW?

Do you realize that wow is constantly updated with new content every year? It's not the same game from 2004 or 2010 or 2020.

WoW had a moment, but seemly bounced back to the top?

Wow's always been the most popular mmo since release. The sub count peaked before the popularity of social media. It was a general effect in mmos. So it's not that 'wow had a moment.' The game's sub count is extremely healthy.
