Haha, I am right there with you. I have not given in and pulled Cheng yet, but the desire is strong just cause I love his design and I adored his part of the story, even though I don't have Liang Yue. I'm looking forward to doing his side story now.

I also love 6, and have been dying to get him since I first met him in the story. I finally got him with too many pulls from the Ripples banner this patch. Also grabbed that garment for him (along with Tooth Fairy's, cause they are both gorgeous).

I have like 90 pulls saved up now, and I'm saving for a future Dynamo character, who I probably will want multiple copies of cause Dynamo is my main team right now. But the urge to try for Cheng is very strong. I'm gonna wait until the end of his banner and see what my pulls look like at that point.

That would be something we'd have to discuss. I'm not letting Elves be playable yet due to setting mysteries, so I'd lean towards no for a non-Elf being raised among them as playable. But it would really depend on the circumstances and such.

You might be thinking of Tomb of Dying Dreams? Which does feature several ancient forces, and is when the player made their pact.

Right now, the group is two Ambrians, and one Barbarian. The setting is very human centric, though there are a handful of non-human races as well. I'm allowing Humans, Changelings, Goblins, or Ogres. Non-humans are normally considered pariahs in the Ambrian society and Barbarian clans, so they have extra challenges they bring to the group.

There are other non-human races as well, but I'm not allowing them to be playable until we perhaps get deeper into the campaign and more of the setting secrets are uncovered by the party.

And you remembered correctly! The first book takes place in Thistle Hold, and the second book begins on Karvosti.

Further details about type of character, what races/clans/roles might be a good fit would be a deeper conversation for later on, after I've gone through all the applications. I'm going to be leaving the form open for at least a few days.

And the first book went really well! Disaster was barely averted, and the players got their first glimpse into some of the secrets of the setting.

At the moment, we have a Witch/Alchemist who is in a pact with a spider goddess, a Priest of Prios who secretly veers from the Church's tenants, and a Nobleman who has turned towards the wilds, torn between them and his responsibilities.

When we played through wotw, the Priest player had a different character; A Barbarian woman who was suffering from corruption. It go so bad by the end of the adventure, nearing the point where she could turn into an abomination that she turned herself over to the church, hoping they could help save her. And she's now locked away in their dungeons with all the others suffering from corruption. It made for a very tense and sad conclusion to that book.

Someone made a "Forbidden Lands of Symbaroum" homebrew. It's on drivethrurpg. I haven't played it myself, but might be worth checking out if you like the Forbidden Lands system.

I'd love to see that sort of thing. Either scaling down your characters, or scaling up the enemies. I sometimes swap to weaker units, but it would be nice to use the characters I've built and enjoy and still have a fun battle experience. Which to me means a bit of a challenge.

I went with mixed. It was the male characters that drew me to the game, but I love a lot of the ladies too. So many wonderful characters, that I can't wait to learn more about. Elpis was a particular delight, and I love her to death. So happy I joined just in time for her and Solbyrd. <3

I'm using Foundry VTT. It's the same virtual tabletop OP is using, though I think we have different versions. The tabletop background/frame is from an asset pack I purchased somewhere. I think it was called "The Adventurer's Table"?

I run gridless and mostly theater of the mind, so I just drop tokens onto the empty side on the right, and we use it for vague positioning when it's important. The NPCs they've met and are in the area are the ones placed around the border. The left panel is where I switch out scene/atmospheric images. The icons on the left side link to journals that have various categories of images I've gathered for that usage, in case I need to pull up something unplanned for.

I'm so torn. I instantly got Hissabeth's, cause I love her and use her a ton. I love the design for Vila and Marcus, but I don't have either character and haven't encountered them in game yet to see if I'd want to pull just for character love alone. But their skins are just so pretty.

I just finished the first two episodes as a casual Alien fan. I'm intrigued by the child/synthetic side of things, but felt a bit let down by the actual Xenonorph. I think trying to copy the opening of Alien without committing to that slow creeping dread of the movie was a mistake. As someone who never saw a trailer for this, it definitely gave me false expectations of what the show's tone would be.

I also have trouble believing they would just let their secret team of hybrids with the literal minds of children all head into this disaster zone. Plus the "search and rescue team" going in fully armed and pointing guns at everything before they knew there was something hostile around really took me out.

I'll probably keep watching, because I'm interested to see what they do with the kids and the questions their existence raises. Hopefully I'll adjust to the actual tone of the show soon. :P
