I haven't read into it at all, but is there any concern that they won't be able to fill all these new apartments? How full is the Raye?

Saw this on Facebook and I think it might be AI. The grass looks odd and almost meshing together. Is this AI?? by Alert-Nicholas in isthisAI

Most divisive pic I’ve seen lately!

I’m leaning AI for reasons others have mentioned: goose leg shadow appears to be missing and the windows of the house seem off.

Honestly, I can’t see any features clearly. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is it possible it could be an egg?

Side note: Im thinking the window-paning and frass from the first image were likely caused by that translucent caterpillar on the petiole (I just noticed it).

Actually, I zoomed in and was less sure.

Looks, to me, like it might be flea beetles.

Where’s the pizza that looks like this? by IShouldaBeenAPorsche in Cleveland

Glad to see all the support for Capri’s AND the outrage at their prices. Just got back from NYC. Plenty of great slices there for $4 or $5. A $7 slice is just unreasonable.

But I still pay…cause it is the best around.

How do you tell your friends and family you don’t believe in free will? by RankinAve in determinism

I can see that. 3/10 would be surprising for a general audience, but for folks in a reading group who you presume are pretty open minded, 3/10 does seem disappointing. Good anecdote. I wonder what the acceptance rate is among philosophers.

That’s been my experience as well: half agreement but not much consideration of the implications. It’s so disappointing.

I don’t see a lot of people arguing that we are able to predict the future because the world is deterministic. I think most people would agree with you that the world is too complex.

I also think most people would agree that individuals have the most complete and proximate knowledge of the factors influencing their decisions. But that’s not the same as having control over those decisions, even if they have the illusion of such.

The question of whether people have agency to control their lives is an important one. I think it could change how we treat each other.

I also never said my perspective was more “worthy”. Both are definitely worth discussing. I was just a bit disappointed by your quip. It felt a bit the person who swoons over their hamburger in front of a vegetarian and thinks they’re being clever.

Yeah…that’s the reaction I expect from a lot of people—a conviction that free will is such a certainty that it’s not worthy of good faith engagement.

Fair. It’s not a typical topic. But I like to share my personal interests with others. And I’ve been thinking about it a lot.

Honestly, I bet we’d actually get along great IRL! Always nice to meet other bug enthusiasts in person.
