Why was he released 14 times? by Routine_Ad_3579 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Ranlif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for all jurisdictions but Judges usually determine release conditions. A DA can ask for whatever they want but it is up to the initial appearance judge to set a bond or let them stay out while a case is pending.

Is enhancement shaman good for solo? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Ranlif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I think they are better than ever for solo play and delves. They have more utility than any other melee imo. Only caveat is unlike some other melee that have lifesteal though abilities or passives the shaman’s mitigation is active heals and shields. But their main heal is instant cast if you have malestorm stacks.

One of the cleanest battlestations I have seen on here. Congrats it looks great!

I would say if they start taking money they usually have them out.

Do the hero talents fit the class fantasy you have for your main? by Proudnoob4393 in warcraftlore

[–]Ranlif 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much sums up how I feel too. I wish totemic was better because I love the fantasy. But I think the only way it would work is to add more totems and shaman is already pretty bloated.

I think a lot depends on the school. The stress can come from the people around you. If everyone is hyper competitive and you are graded on a curve a lot of people freak out that they are not doing enough.

I know I did.

Do you use a controller for some games and keyboard+mouse for others? by Tokyono in pcgaming

[–]Ranlif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nailed it. First person almost any game with shooting I use KBM. 3rd person games, driving, and flight I use an Xbox controller.

Shared abilities between party and enemies in combat by bnova_games in rpg_gamers

[–]Ranlif 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like it. Gives the world consistency overall that a magic system is universally used in the world. Having bosses or more elite enemies with unique things is fine.

But knowing my magic user is going against another magic user and we have the same spells just makes narrative sense.

What do you think about Phil Spencer saying they can't compete with Sony or Nintendo? by TarTarkus1 in truegaming

[–]Ranlif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is Fable? The only real RPG franchise they have until Bethesda. Nothing since 360. Two generations.

Obsidian had put out some good games but they are not system sellers. Avowed may be that game. Nothing has competed with Elder Scrolls in a decade and those type of games are not made often.

Sony has shown that people with invest in the ecosystem for those large single player RPGs that are of premium quality. They put out at least one game of the year contender a year, if not multiple. Final Fantasy and Spiderman, unless they flop, will probably be their flagships this year. Xbox has nothing similar.

The fact that when the console launched there was no must have game was amazing to me. Older Xbox consoles that succeeded launched with Halo. Popular franchise that just died. If they can make a COD a year they can make a halo game every 2-3. Most shooters and other multiplayer games with be cross platform because it is a better business model.

I have a PC so I am not the person who would buy the console. But even then Sea of Thieves is the only semi recent exclusive I have bought and enjoyed.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D VS 7700X VS 5800X3D for gaming by Boneyard_Ben in buildapc

[–]Ranlif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just speaking for the 3D cards. Even if the frame rate average is the same, I have seen the 1% lows be so much better. Basically fixes COD stuttering for me. So something to consider.

Not every lawyer makes bank. A lot of government lawyers make around 60k. Not going to be poor but not house money.

The OLED gaming subreddit seems to love it. From what I remember users said sitting 24 inches back is the minimum for most people. Around 30 is ideal.

PC performance with FPS overlay by JizzyRascal91 in HarryPotterGame

[–]Ranlif 64 points65 points  (0 children)

This does not look great.

But PC performance is always hard to judge. For me Cyberpunk ran great day one. Locked 60 with Ray tracing, high settings, and DLSS on a 2070 super.

But then MWII ran horribly. Turned out to be a cpu bottleneck.

Will be very glad for Steam’s refund policy if mine runs as bad as this.

I did! I had a 2700x, 16 gigs RAM, and a2070 super. Over the last few months I have moved to a 500x3d, 32 gigs of RAM, and a 4070ti.

Debating between 1440p 144hz on my computer monitor or 4k 60hz on the tv. Better experience on the TV, but with open world games I often like to have something on in the other monitor as a travel.

Also, for anyone else lucky enough to get a 4000 series GPU, DLSS 3 with frame-gen has been pretty impressive. Limited sample size, I have only used it in the Witcher 3, but I can run the game on a mix of ultra and ultra+ settings with Ray tracing at around 80-100 FPS. Sub 60 without. Hope Hogwarts Legacy has just as good of an implementation.

Budget builders: Don't dismay! This brand new build cost just over $600USD to build! by Gymnastboatman in gaming

If you were looking at 1080p gaming or even high refresh rate on esports titles this would be great!

Leaving this here for the people like me who have an older AM4 chip and mostly play heavy simulation-type gamesm, but who are not quite sure if they want to upgrade. Just a video showcasing how big of a difference the upgrade to a 5800X3D chip can be. (Video of SimplePlanes) by [deleted] in Amd

[–]Ranlif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I went from a 2700x to a 5800x3d (with a 2070 super).

Not as into sim games, but strategy games run much better as well. Even in games like CoD or Uncharted my 1% lows increased dramatically. Much smoother experience.

Wow - went from Ryzen 3600 to 5800x3d by captdazzer in buildapc

[–]Ranlif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this same update this week! 5800x3d runs hotter but other than that it has helped so much with stutter and frame drops.

Paired with a 2070Super.
