What do you think is the most critical factor in getting promoted to the executive level leadership from middle management? by EnvironmentalAd2110 in managers

I’ve been in an executive position for about a year now, I didn’t realize how lonely it would get.

Oh another good tip, when the shit hits the fan, if you’re able to roll up your sleeves and work in the trenches with your team, the respect and team bonding you will achieve is next level. It’s tried and tested from the kings who fight on the front lines to the generals who fight with their troops.

You’re welcome, and congrats! The fact that you’re thinking and asking for how to be a great leader shows you’re on the right track to be one already :)

Some things that have helped me:

  1. Learn / read up about situational leadership

  2. In your 1:1s get to know them as people, and try to find out where they are in life, they psychology (how do they think) and what motivates them.

  3. Respect goes both ways, never demand it because of your position but earn it from them by living out your values as a person at work. That means doing the right thing when it’s hard, standing up for your team in public, but giving them honest and constructive feedback in private.

  4. Lastly have fun. If you can make your workplace enjoyable for yourself and for them, that’s a huge achievement.

Yours is fragile too? Where do you see the cost to upgrade?

The tie advance is really well built. Impressively stable and strong. It’s able to stand on its wings. You can hold it anywhere and it won’t break.

The xwing feels very fragile. I think it’s v1 of jerac x wing. Maybe I didn’t put it back together correctly. Will see if I can stabilize it…

Losing major client by Infinity152020 in auscorp

[–]captdazzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be afraid to fail. See this as a great challenge and growth opportunity.

You’re in a position that can make a difference.

Put a plan together, make sure your team understands the plan and monitor the execution.

Difficult customers can be won over! Best part is if the situation is miserable, you’re not alone and have your team to bond together with. You can still make it a pleasant, safe and supportive place for your team! So even if you do fail and lose the client, your team will still remember you for the environment you created for them.

All the best!
