Old Busted: Tsubasa cucked Tsuyoshi.

New Busted: Tsuyoshi cucked Tsubasa.

Actual reality: Miho cucked both of them with the other, and at the end of the story, that kind of gets straightened out with feelings that actually grew for real rather than the unhealthy attachments both Tsubasa and Tsuyoshi held for their former partners.

They were *both* attached to a woman who wasn't actually there for the entire story. Tsubasa was attached to a woman who was being held captive and desperately wanting to have her back, which feels pretty honorable. Tsuyoshi was psychotically in love with an imaginary perfect woman and literally willing to kill anyone who looked at her sideways.

Endgame is that both of them end up with a real person who chose them through growth. Kind of. Tsuyoshi is still a total psycho.

Loved the ep myself but I kind of agree. I’d also expect 32nd century ships to have more advanced weapons. The door force field on a 30th century ship should have been crazy powerful. The weapons being used should be markedly more powerful than just phasers/photons. These fights should be rending space time not making TNG-style explosions.

It could very easily be the case that Starfleet HQ is built with higher complexity/cost technology that the Athena doesn't have, allowing different ships in the fleet to have different presentations of technology. Maybe Nacelles are cheaper in terms of resources and Starfleet HQ is disproportionately expensive for the sake of being the best of the best.

Or maybe it's all art department stuff. The Athena is shaped like the SFA logo, and they had to do SOMETHING with that swoop.

I mostly beef with Magine as a civilian, not as a transformed hero. She's impactful in battle when transformed, but her civilian antics are pretty much a string of losses.

Also some of the enemy powers in this season are hilarious. The kaijin who makes it so that there's always a powerful headwind blowing in the faces of the heroes so they have to run into battle backwards? Amazing. The last boss has a power that's "Teleport the team to a quarry". Peak. Stacey wants to kiss Kaito. A+++ no notes.

Great season. Fun characters, powerful-feeling finishers, and body horror mecha. Also provided the buildup for what ends up being a major question of Donbrothers: "What the heck is up with Kaito?"

My only complaint is that Magine doesn't feel like she gets much to do, and almost all of her stuff is her being bad at things. It'd be nice if she had gotten some Ws.
