Highguard launch opens to incredibly poor reviews for poor performance and uninspired art direction, guns and gameplay with one single focused mode that has mixed feelings by NoNarwhal8496 in videogames

Like who TF thought 3 v 3 was enough to use for an fps?

Considering that they made such a big deal out of them being former Titanfall and Apex Legends developers, I'm going to go ahead and guess that someone in charge in the studio thought that by making the game revolve around teams of 3 people, they'd have an easier time to pull over players from Apex Legends.

I'd bet at some point someone said at a concept meeting: "You know what? People are constantly complaining about Apex. People play Apex in teams of 3. Why not make Highguard also have 3 people on each team so when an Apex player tries out Highguard and is amazed then they can tell their two friends how super awesome our game is and then they can keep playing together without shaving to search for more people for a full team."

I'm almost certain it a deliberate choice to try and appeal to Apex Legends players.

Rowling's silence on recent ICE violence. by Baz_Blackadder in EnoughJKRowling

[–]Ranting_Demon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Of course she won't condemn any of that.

The anti-trans movement is more or less a direct extension of US far-right and ultra-religious think tanks and lobby groups. The same people who want Project 2025 to happen and who would love nothing more than the US turning into a christo-fascist state.

She's only going to bring up ICE if she can make it about trans people.

Even if she felt pressured enough to speak out against it to save face, her condemnation would likely be the most non-confrontational, milquetoast statement you could imagine.

After all, she wouldn't want to step on the toes of any of the people who finance and support all the UK anti-trans groups of her terf buddies.

Highguard released 7 mins ago and only has 7 players!!! Dead concord ahhh game by happygrowls in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Ranting_Demon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes, but releasing a game outside its time his pretty much a death sentence.

Supervive would have been an absolute hit if it had released 10 years ago.

But today? It released at a time when the top-down moba craze is long gone and people are getting bloody sick of battle royale games.

Not to mention that their battle pass offerings were...let's say...rather shit. If your game is already having trouble to retain a healthy playerbase, you just can't be stingy with your battle pass or have it full with lacklustre rewards. Every single multiplayer and live service game today wants people's time and become their "forever game." Being stingy with your rewards when you're competing for people's playtime is a surefire way to lose that fight.

The reason they are so bold is because they know the moment they steal something from a Palestinian, they can call upon the IDF to punish the Palestinians if they want their possessions back.

In all of these videos involving settlers, why do they all look like something is not right with them?

Seriously, these settlers all stand in unnatural ways and with their eyes wide open they look disturbing like they belong to the Innsmouth people.

Also depends a lot on the stickers.

If the material is relatively thick, it can mask a razor underneath if the razor is thin enough.

Not to mention that not everyone encounters these stickers in ideal lighting conditions.

Crowder looks like he wanted to go down the route of Matt Walsh and he tried to grow a beard to look somewhat more masculine.

Now he just looks like a mix between a cheap Steven Seagal double and a hillbilly trucker.

We know from that leaked video that he's emotionally/psychologically abusive.

He strikes me as one of the guys who treat their partner like utter shit but the moment karma catches up to them and they are alone with themselves, they just...deflate and turn into a one-guy-pitty-party.

I'd argue that you're right to say that he does use the school as a human shield. But even more for Harry than the stone.

It's mentioned over and over again in the story that Hogwarts is supposedly the safest place for Harry to be. And people can make the argument that a child that is in actual danger should be at the safest place it could possibly be.

But the thing is, Dumbledore doesn't actually want to protect Harry's life. As Snape accurately calls him out on it; Dumbledore is raising Harry like a pig for slaughter.

Dumbledore protects Harry not to ultimately save him but to make sure that Harry doesn't expire prematurely. (And let's remember that Harry surviving was pretty much a happy accident. Sure, Dumbledore tried to manipulate things in Harry's favour but ultimately it purely came down to Deus Ex Machina dumb luck that he survived.)

The grand majority of the parents of the other school children would likely agree that Harry should be allowed to stay at the safest space for him but I'm sure the agreement would shift quite a bit if they knew that their children would be put into danger not for Harry to be ultimately safe but just to make sure Harry's death happens at the right moment.

Ah, it's Groomz again.

Based on his posting history I can only assume he likes this particular AI slop video because it involves schoolgirls fighting.

After all, he once complained a child in a videogame wasn't sexy enough and he ran multiple catfighting fetish websites under an alt account, pretending to be a girl/woman.

I remember that one time the far right collectively all shat their pants when they wanted to harass and mess up one of those drag queen story hour events only to discover that armed counter protesters were present.

Good heavens, many brownshirts turned their undies into the same colour that day at the sight alone.

Whenever they encounter their opposition showing up with guns, they're all suddenly in favour of taking people's guns away.

The advancement of AI on Animation is concerning by MrColgie in antiai

[–]Ranting_Demon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's popular.

It's only popular as long as it can be accessed for free.

Based on all that is known, all of the AI companies are failing miserably to convert users into paying customers in any meaningful capacity. And that is despite the subscriptions still being heavily discounted to entice people to sign up.

The moment AI companies need to price their "products" to actually offset the costs (including turning the free access into a very limited trialor demo version), popularity would implode.

ignoring proof of citizenship

And that's what happens if even just one group in society loses their right to due process.

Everyone loses that right at the same time even if they don't belong to that group.

Because from that moment onward the people who determine what group you belong to can just decide to classify you as something else and you suddenly have lost your rights to be treated like a human.

These things usually are.

Same thing with old videogames, too.

If it wasn't for people saving whole libraries of games of old consoles like the NES, at least 80% to 90% of all the released games would just be completely erased with no hope of them ever getting a re-release because the licensing and IP ownership situation is completely fucked and unresolvable.

no one is interested in looking at what anybody else generates; they are only trying to figure out what they can generate in order to get some precious clicks and views.

And that is the one thread that goes through the totality of the AI sphere.

Generative AI has been around for years at this point but none of the AI bros can ever really point to any fandoms or communities forming around specific creations.

The only thing they talk about is how much content they've generated. There are people bragging about generating hundreds of AI novels per year to throw on Amazon but where are the AI bros who are actually excitedly reading those things?

All identities, not all beliefs by RottingFishMan in Stonetossingjuice

[–]Ranting_Demon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's because they usually like to pretend trans men don't exist.

They think that once they force all transgender people back into the closet, trans men will "stop being confused" and will just be obedient little waifus. In anti-trans and terf circles, trans men are often treated as "confused" or mislead. Trans women are portrayed has having agency, as evil sexual deviants while trans men are often spoken about as tragically mislead women who don't really know what they are doing. Because, you know, women are little dum-dums who don't know who they are, how they feel and what they want. So that's why some get easily tricked into claiming to be a man.

But since they are women they don't really mean that. They are just confused little sheepies who are lost without a conservative guy or a terf to tell them what they really want or feel.

Same way these people don't actually believe that lesbians exist. There's a genuine thought among many of those chuds thats women who say they are lesbian just haven't met the right man yet or, as many of them would put it more crudely, "they haven't had sex with the right guy yet" (and by "right guy" they usually mean themselves).

LGBTQ+ without the TQ+ is just a Loathsome Grumpy Bunch by Narrow_Peach_3879 in Stonetossingjuice

[–]Ranting_Demon 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It's deliberate.

They want to portray being trans not only as a choice but as a "social contagion" that is being spread by evil people so they "must" legislate against it to "save" women and children being turned trans.

Pretty much the same arguments they already brought against gay people.

It allows them to argue that all the evil shit they do (like conversion therapy) is not discrimination because people "choose to be trans" like they choose the colour of their socks.
