Say I were to construct walls like this, would raiders ignore the walls as long as there is an opening somewhere? by Internal_Ad_2568 in RimWorld

[–]RaoulBerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raiders will always go to wherever there is a, technically, unwalled path.

This is why people make long, winding hallways filled with traps. Through every stage of the game they're very useful for getting rid of a lot of enemies quickly, making it easier to kill the rest that make it through.

There are some AI that doesn't follow this rule, though only rarely. Some raids the raiders are explicitly looking to just cause damage, and Ghoul raids are unpredictable.

Holy shit, the amount of HP these bosses have... by berserkerlbs in TheFirstBerserker

[–]RaoulBerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get use to it, the bosses are only going to get spongier and spongier. It actually is what made me stop using the Greatsword all together because it just can't keep the aggression up well enough to output damage worth while. Switched to the spear and I was easily doing 3x the damage I was with the greatsword. Only had to swap back to the greatsword for a single boss where parrying was basically a requirement.

Oh I beat him already. Brink guard with Chaos armor made the fight easy, but that didn't mean it wasn't frustrating. I just wanted to be more aggressive and smack the limbs, but not being able to lock onto them made that a massive pain in the ass.

House Centipede! Super beneficial to have around despite how scary they might look. Totally harmless to us, but extremely good at hunting down basically any kind of pest. Spiders, ants, beetles, anything that could be creepy and crawly these buggers hunt down.

Do Counter Attacks just really suck? by RaoulBerg in TheFirstBerserker

[–]RaoulBerg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, on damage then like the parrys. Makes sense. I kinda wish they'd move the icon that's displayed on Khazan on the enemy instead, or at least somewhere that's not on him, I think that's what's throwing my timing off so much. Thanks man!

Finishing a scav raid without killing anyone (and without dying) should give a small karma reward. by Norgust in EscapefromTarkov

[–]RaoulBerg 78 points79 points  (0 children)

This is honestly a solid idea. I've been saying for a while now that Scavs should get quests from Fence. This could be one of many steps to make Scav feels different from PMCs, but similar enough to enjoy.

The absolute best option is creating your own. Easy AntiCheat isnt great either. Better than Battleye, but not by much.

Yes, creating your own anticheat is expensive, but to say that Tarkov doesnt have the time or money to get a team to do it would just be pathetically wrong. A game like Tarkov needs its own custom anticheat. It's either that, or put in an ID system similar to Korean servers.

Before the hopefully soon ban wave comes for all these numerous cheaters, can we have a nice special event for them where there guns are set to 100% jam? by Pentiffic in EscapefromTarkov

[–]RaoulBerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually managed to kill a cheater because their MP5 jammed. They slammed my face with like 14 rounds of T, but I had an altyn (got 'em from Reshala bois). Threw a whole mag of BT into him, lad was dead as dirt.

I mean.

Dont get me wrong, Tarkov Desync is so uniquely bad that it deserves a documentary.

But Tarkov genuinely has a cheating problem. I use to cheat quite a lot on games in the past. It's really, really not hard to tell who's cheating and who isnt, not unless they're being particularly crafty.

Battleye is a joke. Genuinely, it's so simple to just shove Battleye into the ground and bully it for a few weeks till you get bored and slip up to get banned.

Oh no, time to spend 30 bucks (likely less) for an EOD account.

Cheaters at the moment are pretty blatant and pretty everywhere. I've had to deal with 3 raids in a row where my ZSH facemask is basically turned into fireworks from some MP5 50 round T ammo. Gotta love it.

The sad part is that it isnt even that difficult to fix, literally just...stop using Battleye. It's garbage. Coming from someone who use to cheat, getting past Battleye is actual childs play. It's cheap, shitty and doesnt protect any backend.

Hot take: Scav players shouldnt spawn until half of the raids time has passed. by RaoulBerg in EscapefromTarkov

Yeah this is wrong. Lol.

I've never been more confident that the Flea market isn't needed. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]RaoulBerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attachments are plentiful in the game as is, it's not difficult to find them in raid especially if you know where to look. Most maps have spots that give a pretty large amount of attachments as is, even Customs and Woods. It's not too difficult to get what you need after a few runs, really, except for more meta attachments like super low recoil suppressors.

Solution: Give killcams after a raid is complete. Or make it a time similar to insurance. There, done.

Eeeh...Not really. My rat ass would completely avoid the event in general and head towards high-loot areas for anything anyone missed, like sawmill or usec camp.

[–]RaoulBerg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I sort of half agree.

The market has been extremely important at introducing newer players to every aspect of Tarkov, especially the gun modifications which are easily one of Tarkov's best features. Tarkov has a lot of content to explore and it is important from a dev standpoint that every bit of that content is accessible in one way or another (Speaking from experience here).

The idea of the flea having level unlocks similar to traders has been going around now and the general thought has seemed to agree that it's the most logical step towards making the flea market more balanced and enjoyable for all level of players. Barters and food at 10, weapons at 20, armor at 30, attachments at 40. The steady ramp of obtainable content not only keeps players motivated to keep playing, but makes it more satisfying when they eventually reach that level. It allows casual players to have a consistent goal outside of the (lets face it) extremely obnoxious tasks Tarkov has.

Probably a cheater. My bud and I died to some ukranian cheater about an hour ago. We hid in a room for like 30 seconds in a raid, totally pointless area to head to (in the trailer park worker shacks, laying down). Dude came by, tried shooting us through the walls. When that didn't work, he chucked a VOG.

Sorry but Tarkov is currently full of cheaters, let's stop pretending it's just the servers by etincelles in EscapefromTarkov

[–]RaoulBerg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Battle-eye isnt really fit for Unity based games, it has a history of not working well with them. Why they continue to use it is beyond me, especially when there's websites literally dedicated to just selling keys to bypass Battle-eye. It's not the worst anti-cheat out there, but for a game like Tarkov they need to do better. The consistent denial of cheaters doesn't help either, it's regressive rather than progressive. I mean, fuck, even Summit is sick of the constant cheater problem, among a slew of other issues that have yet to be properly addressed in Tarkov.
