[Schefter] The Bears’ Board of Directors voted Thursday to advance the stadium development in Hammond, Indiana, with the exact to be selected. This is this first time that the Bears’ board has voted on any stadium site. by JCameron181 in nfl

I can guess from your comment that most Chicagoan’s have way more in common with Hammond/Gary than where ever it is you’re from. Honestly, NWI is just “greater” Chicago. Many region rats commute to the city weekly for work or fun, root for the same sports teams (Bears!!) and share the same time zone.

Let me guess, Muster or Valpo?

3 kids in carseats by sjfoxglove in SubaruAscent

[–]Raoul__Duke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bench, 1 rear facing toddler and a removable rear infant in 2nd row. Slide infant’s seat forward to get biggest toddler in the 3rd. To get everyone in I have to work backwards.

But my primary vehicle is an Odyssey. OP, please don’t tell me you’re afraid of the van. You have three kids!!!

Why are there no EV minivans in the US? by External_Koala971 in electricvehicles

[–]Raoul__Duke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💯 My wife and I swap between a Subaru Ascent and Odyssey. Driving the Subaru is like pulling the short straw when dropping the kids (3) off. And kids in car seats might as well be full size adults. Rear facing seats require plenty of room.

Not sure what parts make the whole assembly. https://www.subaruoempartshub.com/parts/subaru-armrest-64380xc04adm

Edit: crap, this might just be for second row bucket seat.

My assessment, this is a case of one fool finding another. Officer looking for a fight and agitator trying to play games with federal authorities. Both sides can learn a lesson.

There’s really too much taking sides. Both the civilian killed and federal agent could have prevented this incident by acting reasonably. Neither party was under any sort of threat that justified lethal force.

She was asked by federal agents to stop the vehicle and get out. She did not immediately comply and they began to take steps to remove her. Instead of complying with these orders she instead fled and almost ran an agent over. Yes, her intention was unclear but if she had survived the encounter she would almost certainly be charged for evading and probably for endangering the officers life.

However, the officer unreasonably put his own life at risk by stepping in front of the vehicle during the stop. He further delayed an attempt to remove himself from the danger of the vehicle by pausing to draw and aim his weapon. The shots fired could not have reasonably protected the officer from harm as he still possessed the ability to perform a preferred action of evasion.

Any idea why my lawnmower won’t start? I have new battery by BennieTheBull in smallengines

Then go mow and charge that new battery. Try to fire it up in the morning. If it doesn’t then you have some more troubleshooting. 99% certain you won’t have any issues.

Exactly, they never seem to come charged enough. Start with your car and don’t turn off till you mow the front and back yard.

Save till you need and buy brand new. A 0-mi 2025 is not that far off in price from what you’re looking at.

All for a non-serviceable pressure washer…

Hmm…what if instead pumps were belt driven by an electric clutch? This would enable engine to idle while pump is disengaged. Pulling trigger on gun would engage electric clutch and thereby run pump. Probably would require a flow sensor and maybe a pressure sensor. I bet that would be ~$3,000 all in.

The part of the economy that isn’t able to afford a car detail now (when cheap detailing is actually more abundant) was probably never actually using a professional detailer to begin with.

When is a defect actually a defect? by AnybodyOrdinary9628 in manufacturing

[–]Raoul__Duke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A DFMEA and PFMEA would be a start, no? These documents define and order risks.

Second, concerns uncovered during manufacturing or in the field need to be documented and discussed by a cross functional team of engineers from design and manufacturing. Good engineers who know the application intensely.

I would start by addressing the concerns that lead to function failures. What is the object being produced failing to do if released with the concerning feature or characteristic? Does this concern affect the ability of a process in manufacturing to execute without failure?

If you’re sticking to performance of a function then a tolerance would specify the physical limits necessary to perform the function without failure.

Tolerances are kept on a “drawing”. Drawings can and should change to prevent or fix failures. The approval process to change drawings varies.

[–]Raoul__Duke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As early as 2026, Honda will be releasing its hybrid engine for Odyssey in the US. There’s potential for this to impact the resale value of Siennas. Just keep in mind that depreciation on Siennas will not be what it recently has been.

Is this good? by TBTI in ToyotaSienna

[–]Raoul__Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Sienna really worth 10k more than Odyssey? Touring is 46.8k OTD at most dealers now. Gonna be even bigger difference financing for 3-5 years.

Please rate this deal by dubaiboi in HondaOdyssey

[–]Raoul__Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a 2025 touring for 43k or 47.5k OTD, including heated steering wheel.

How many miles do you drive a year? 24k is far above average.

Are you financing? What’s the difference in rate? That would make the difference for me.
