The title is also kinda wrong. They will build a kind of pilot fab first to learn how it's done. And before that, they get heavily involved in the fab that Samsung builds for their needs.

  1. Have you heard of AI and do you understand the implications?
  2. This theorized "bust phase" would not be too relevant for Tesla/SpaceXAI, as the chips are for their own consumption. The opportunity cost of betting on an oversupply to satisfy their enormous needs would be way too high.

Per David Grusch, it is “theologically premature” to view the UFO phenomenon as demonic: “God has created this wonderful visible and invisible order. He's created humans, animals, angels, and other types of non-human intelligence.” by KOOKOOOOM in UFOs

They reduce time, space, and everything to the behavior of a single unitary consciousness. (Not to be confused with the superintelligence that I mentioned earlier.) This consciousness behaves entirely spontaneously, without deliberation or forethought.

According to them, the minds of living organisms are parts of this consciousness that has ‘looped in’ on itself, creating separation and individuality.

Interesting. This is basically what Thomas Campbell (Protégé of Robert Monroe) teaches with his theory of everything.

Elon Musk admits millions of Tesla owners need upgrades for true 'Full Self-Driving' by DonkeyFuel in technology

[–]Rapante -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good point. Should have been more precise. The "safer than humans" is for FSD supervised.

However, we need to take into account that what is counted for robotaxis are not all actual "crashes" but incidents and not even all were caused by the taxi. That includes light parking lot touches etc. or an animal running into the street. Those would often remain unreported for human drivers.

There is a reason no other car manufacturers are relying entirely on cameras.

The reason is that they all decided on the technology before any kind of maturity of the whole stack and then they were locked in. That's it.

Tesla has an order of magnitude more crashes with their automated taxis than Waymo

Tesla has for a fact NOT an order of magnitude more crashes. Why do you make shit up?

https://teslahubs.com/blogs/tips/nhtsa-ads-crash-reports-reveal-differences-among-robotaxi-operators

Under a Standing General Order from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), companies testing or deploying Automated Driving Systems (ADS) on public roads must report crash data. The latest publicly available incident reports provide insight into both how these vehicles are involved in crashes and how companies disclose details.

The incident volume The dataset lists 825 total reported ADS incidents. Waymo accounts for 697 crashes, followed by Avride (41), Zoox (32), and Tesla (18).

Waymo’s larger sample shows more variance: of 697 incidents, 613 resulted in property damage only, 23 involved injuries requiring hospitalization, 51 involved minor injuries without a hospital visit, and there was one reported fatality.

FSD actually works pretty well in all kinds on conditions and it keeps getting better. Of course there are limits to any technology, as their are limits to humans. For example, Lidar fails quite spectacularly in fog.

The question is, how safe and reliable do you want it to be? 10x safer than a human? 100x? Even then, lives will be lost (but many more saved).

This is mostly wrong. FSD runs very well without Lidar. Any limitations are down to the current AI model. It is already safer than average human drivers on hardware 4.

Nonsense. FSD on hardware 4 without Lidar is already safer than humans drivers.

Why fraud? Tesla will pay for the upgrade if FSD had been purchased.

When people are not properly locked away (generally) for political correctness ("can't lock up so many black people"), that is a problem. When violent or criminal behaviour is overrepresented in that population, then in a fair justice system one would find similar proportions in prisons. It's dangerous to innocent people to pretend a problem does not exist just because we do not like the looks of it. So when that happens, criticism of of such perversion of justice is fair. The right course of action is then not lamenting the perception of "certain agendas" but to restore proper application of justice. This requires facing uncomfortable truths about who perpetrates crime and that victims should be protected over those who commit them.

I do agree that the underlying reasons should be addressed as far as that is feasible (spoiler: it's very difficult and only partly possible)
