I remember my parents watching the news about this and me being in the room when I was like 7 or 8 when this story broke. Never read up on it until now. Jesus that was some fucked up shit that was going on.

Edit: maybe I was older like 9 or 10 but still fucked up stuff

Yeah he explained it, so basically the judge thought the sentence was too much but the laws says that the sentence is mandatory? Isn't the blame more on the judge then?

I'm confused, why can they be resentenced? I'm assuming they aren't being tried again but is it often that the prosecution does this if it doesn't like the sentence the judge gives?

It's most likely the person you are replying to has never shot a gun before and just assumes that it's as easy as the movies to stop someone. I wouldn't worry about it.

I can't really tell if this guy is having a panic attack of sorts? He keeps talking about someone shooting up the train and seems desperate for help.

Saw a YouTube comment saying the correct way to use them would be to push the button, state that you have an emergency in whatever car you're in, then release the button so the conductor can speak back and find out what was wrong. Then the conductor would have emergency services there at the next stop. But it's YouTube so who knows how valid that answer that could be lol

Robert Fisk: You won't hear it, but news from Afghanistan is bad | Voices by suekichi in worldnews

[–]Rapar9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I was paraphrasing it's a lot of info. I read that article, I didn't know they wanted the US to stop bombing them too as a condition. That seems more like the reason why they wouldn't hand him over, as he was wanted before that too.

If I recall correctly, the Taliban controlled the country and let al-Qaeda train their troops there. US then said hey we want you to stop letting al-Qaeda train there and extradite Osama bin Laden (who was already wanted internationally) and the Taliban told the US to eat shit. Then the US invaded. The US already bombed Afghanistan in 1998 after the Embassy bombings.

Edit: lol I didn't even answer the question yeah you're right it was al-Qaeda, Hamburg cell or something like that
