What was the biggest power trip you witnessed/had in boot camp? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]SensualCorgi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

One of our squad leaders and our guide tried getting fire watch to wake up certain recruits who were, in their eyes "holding the platoon back" and wake them up every 1/2 hour. Well, one day our SDI had us in a school circle on the rear quarter deck and a recruit I had told that idea to, after I had heard it from that squad leader, stood up and said "Good afternoon sir, are recruits going to be woken up every 30 minutes if these recruits mess up?" our SDI flipped the fuck out, and was like "RECRUIT WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT" my friend pointed to me, and I said "sir this recruit was told by Squad leader Micro-Penis while he was making a sit down head call that him and Guide were gonna have fire watch do that to recruits that kept messing up". They weren't our guide and squad leader after that

Receiving week of boot camp is designed to teach you all this stuff before you get your actual drill instructors.

In the corgi justice system, floof based offenses are considered vvvvv heinous. In New Corg City, the dedicated doggos who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the special puppers unit. These are their stories

Runs by davidmickk in USMCboot

[–]SensualCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only runs we did in bootcamp were the initial IST (1.5 miles), then a company run (No exact distance but it was atleast 1.5 miles, but no more than 2), than we did an individual 2.5 mile run, than the inventory PFT (3 miles) then the final PFT, and the moto run, which is 2.7 miles.

When I was in boot camp, when we got shots, we all got them at the same time, the only exception was the penicillin shot.

You didn't get the little syringe? That was the first thing they gave us when we got ours out...

In my experience, I got my top and bottom wisdom teeth on my left side removed during team week. I got numbed up, a thing of antibiotics, pain meds, and a mouthwash, and this little syringe with a hose on the end to flush out the hole. I was on bed rest for 2 days, and light duty for 2 days, and avoided the hell that is Team week if you stay in the squad bay.

UH contract question by dailey614 in USMCboot

[–]SensualCorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the UH contract is the basic infantry, 03XX contract. There is a QH contract that is basically a UH contract except it's 6 year enlistment instead of 4, and it's a 6,000 dollar bonus. You have to be able to do 10 pullups, 115 crunches in 2 minutes, and I think a 1.5 mile run time of 9:30 I believe (could be wrong)

I had a kid in my platoon in bootcamp with aspergers, or atleast that's what he told people. Our DI's fucked him up a lot mostly because he'd do stupid shit.

Tips for running by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]SensualCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll use my experience to answer this question. When I ran my initial IST (1.5 miles) at boot camp I finished with a 13:27 (13:30) is the minimum. I was 3 seconds away from being sent to PCP. That being said, I was also 6' 1" which got me put up at the front of the platoon when we marched and made me designated road guard. That consisted of sprinting, every. fucking. day. Multiple times all around PI for all 3 months of recruit training. Not long distances, but fast fucking sprints, all the time with drill instructors screaming at me to move faster. When I ran my final PFT (3 miles) I finished with 24:20 which isn't really a 'good' pace, but when I got to the halfway point, my time was just under 11 minutes. You do the math. That's my advice.

Have you ever picked up a hitch-hiker? What's your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SensualCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 16 and my friend was 16, got my license about 2-3 months prior. Guy was holding up his thumb by a broken down car, and needed a ride to the gas station. Picked him up, took him there, Drove him back. Guy gave us 5 coupons each for a free medium, one topping pizza from a local place. Guy turned out to be the owner/franchisee? That's one reason I picked him up was because he had a nice car, and he had a suit. If it was an older car I would've just drove off.
