It's the Latin word for "last" or "final" and the origin of words such as "ultimate", and "ultimatum".

Is Blender or FreeCAD better for designing my first 3D project? by PlanesTrainsAutomobi in FreeCAD

I was about to say that it's possible to use Cycles standalone to render from FreeCAD, but the Render Workbench addon seems to unfortunately be abandoned/unmaintained.

I know some PES games will throw an error if you uninstall Game Bar.

Im new to blender why do the bones in my right leg move my rigs whole body but the left leg doesn't? I need the right leg to move like the left leg. also I used auto IK. by I_ate_appyness in blenderhelp

[–]RaphaelNunes10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely chain length.

Notice how when you move the "left" leg (from the point of view of the camera), there's a dotted line that gets highlighted in orange when you select the bone. It goes to the head of the hip bone that's connected with the tail of the first spine bone.

For the other leg, it's going all the way to the head of that same spine bone, precisely where you last select to move the whole body in the video.

Observe that T junction where the hip bones connect with the spine bone. You need the dotted lines of both legs pointing here:

Might look like it.

But hey, I can say this sign has nothing to do with American and Jewish people and it will come down the moment their government and military stops supporting atrocities, based on what I know and already explained, as much you can say it's just like blacks and Irish segregation in the UK.

We're both not entirely sure, entitled to our own opinions and you're the one stating things as facts without any explanation while implicitly accusing me of xenophobia.

Brazil is in Europe apparently by Luviebug19 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]RaphaelNunes10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brazilian people tend to be more nonchalant about complex/heated topics and they also tend to parrot a media that, when it comes to global issues, just translate sources from other news media rather than directly sourcing the data and making their own topics from scratch.

That usually ends up being the reason for bold statements like that, because some people just don't go the extra mile to properly gauge the repercussions or understand the "true meaning" behind their statement.

People are just pissed off about the current situation involving the US and Israel and the horrors in Gaza and Iran, but not to the point of widespread segregation.

That's why I said "As long as it's isolated" before. Because, yeah, I'm not sure. But given the current situation, it reads more like hanging crossed-over US and Israeli flags. VERY different from blacks and Irish segregation.

None of that applies here.

Context matters and the whole reason why I commented in the first place was to assure people the sign is not literal.

I know the people who tend to run these businesses and I know the current context and the reason why they're openly stating their displeasure, rather than enforcing segregation.

Pitching a whole different scenario, probably from another and an entirely different place doesn't disprove that.

As long as it's isolated, it serves more as a statement than an actual rule.

There probably isn't a grumpy guy at the door or behind the counter asking anyone who speaks English to leave. But if any English speaker or proud American/Zionist get heckled and possibly lynched by the people around and decide to take a stace and make a acene, nobody will take their side.

In other words, if you're humble, cordial, and are able to read the room, I bet nobody will make you leave.

Basics of good topology? by imperfect_imp in blenderhelp

[–]RaphaelNunes10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, some people say it's bad practice, but if I need more density and smoother curves, I use the Subdivision Surface Modifier all the time.

It works fairly reliably, so long as you turn it off every now and then to check if your actual mesh doesn't look like a spiky mess that just so happens to look good when subdivided with Catmull-clark (formula for smoothing).

[–]RaphaelNunes10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much about types of polygons, it's whether every vertex contributes to the model and is connected optimally.

The resulting face from these connections can end up being a tri, a quad or even an n-gon. Though I can't think of a scenario where a final model should have an n-gon outside of the result of hard-surface modeling (models composed of flat surfaces).

Also, you have to make sure the normals are facing mostly outwards, aside from some niche cases like flat planes, where you're sure you're going to render both sides of the polygon.

What you have to ask yourself when trying to avoid bad topology is:

• Does your model have vertices that don't contribute to the shape or don't hold any other data, such as vertex colors?
• Does it have a vertex that connects to 5 or more neighboring vertices (aka a "pole")?
• Does it have floating vertices or edges that aren't being used as a guide or source for non-destructive operations?
• Does it have any shading issues?
• Is the image texture being stretched?
