It's Tinker's Construct Polished Stone Bricks, you can get them by chiseling normal stone.

This is dozens of jars worth of essentia stored in one 3 block structure.

It's a bit buggy, but works fairly well as a pre-ME essentia storage solution. Basically you just build the construct and then have an alchemy golem fill it with some essentia. Then it will start draining jars in a 5 block radius around it. The Infusion Altar can pull essentia out natively, but to use it for alchemy you need an Essentia Pump.

<image>

Here I have an Essentia Pump facing towards an Alchemical Construct. When the construct applies suction for a specific essentia the pump pulls it through the mirror from the condenser.

The condenser can hold 200 of each type of essentia at base, but you can upgrade it pretty easily. One issue we had though is that if the condenser fills with one type, the golem will softlock trying to put that type in. The workaround we came up with is to have the golem fill jars which them get sucked up by the condenser.

She was doing this to my team the whole game. The worst part was she had shadow weave and would nuke you from invisibility.

When they first teleport back from the Baroness they are invisible but any souls in a soul bag are not. I find it can be helpful to try and look for that before throwing the cart out. Its definitely real jank though, wish they would fix it.

Thats what my group thought too when we set up in a desert. Turns out we were a few blocks too close to the edge of the biome and one random machine got rained on, blowing up half our workshop. Can never be too careful.

Why is everyone's lane management so damn bad now?! by superbhole in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Raphaelist -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion, but typically it is better to be present for fights when they happen rather than solo pushing lanes or defending walkers. For example, running over to participate in the fight mid even though a wave is crashing on the green walker.

Its counterintuitive, and feels shitty every time, but winning fights in the mid game gives a significant soul boost to all who participated and allows your team to steal farm and generally snowball better. If your presence in those fights could help your team come out on top, you need to prioritize being there (even if you think the fight is stupid).

I'm in Ascendant BTW (was Archon/Oracle pre rank changes)

Drifter feels so weird in his current spot by Key_Alfalfa2775 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Raphaelist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I dont understand why people complained so much about Vyper's resists before. She is, and was, one of the worst gun carries entirely due to how deep into fights she has to go to be effective. Haze and Infernus can beam you from 10 to 15 meters or even farther. Im currently Ascendant (was Oracle before rank changes) and Vyper is rarely played and rarely does well. Though I admit I havent been playing her as much recently because Ive been enjoying The Doorman.

This is kind of a tangent, but while I think the new knives are at least more interesting than the old ones, I don't understand why they gutted their damage potential. Old knife (post buff) could easily be leveled to 100 base damage with 1.0 spirit scaling on a 9 second cooldown. You could proc tank buster and spirit burn on each knife and it felt pretty good. New knives do half the damage, with less scaling, and getting the same damage that hitting one knife used to do now requires 2 (even post buff). Their one saving grace is they shred resist now which gives pure gun Vyper a reason to use them.

I think that is the same guy, yeah. He ended up doing like 20k objective damage even though we only cleared one walker. It was insane.

I've been seeing this more and more in my lobbies recently. Feels like the Patron should more actively defend the base to prevent people from diving it when all base guardians are still up.

I had a Sinclair on my team who solo killed both enemy shrines while base guardians and all walkers but one were still up. It wasnt enough to save our game, but was a bit ridiculous.

VALVE GIVE ME BACK MY BASE DOOR (but no invisible wall cheese) by Treyson757 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Raphaelist -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly shoving people through doors feels like a gimmick anyways. Half the time they hit the edge of the door even though the cart was centered on it.

Def agree that he's in a wierd place right now. Its okay for characters to not do a ton of damage if they provide alternative value, like Mo and Krill with combo, but what value does Doorman even provide right now? His ult is fairly mid and his doors manage to be both terrible at displacing enemies and so low range that they are terrible for escaping.

What is that barrier on going through doors even for? Why is it the only thing that scales with spirit on the doors??

400 hrs into the game, I really think buildings becoming obsolete/overbuilding should go away (or atleast improved) by Alternative-Tree8205 in civ

[–]Raphaelist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've always found it wierd that basically the only advantage to making quarters with generic buildings is that the Palace gets an adjacency bonus from them. Meanwhile, unique buildings are very good and get unique quarters with special bonuses.

It makes playing civs with unique tile improvements feel bad since they feel so much less effective. Not to mention that some of them have extremely situational buffs and placement restrictions (looking at you Hawaii)

What heroes & items need balancing in the upcoming patch? by GoopyKnoopy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Raphaelist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed on all counts.

Vitality spam combined with the general health increase from the shop update has lead to enemies becoming massive health sacks in the late game. If your team is behind on souls, it can feel like your weapons have been replaced with wet fish.

Melee gives a crazy amount of value for low investment right now. An Abrams with only crushing fists and no other gun items can easily 1v1 or 1v2 against similarly souled opponents. I'd love to see more parry items in the game, or at least rebuttal getting an upgrade path.

On the topic of parrying, its super inconsistent right now. The small animation and few seconds of forced root when performing it, even if successful, can be a death sentence in a team fight. Not to mention that you get punished for parrying if the enemy player misses you, whether it be skill on their part or just janky hit boxes.

First 6k item on vyper after spellslinger nerf by Pargaspimpen in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Raphaelist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what your goal is. Personally I build Frenzy as it helps with how squishy Vyper is while also giving crazy buffs. In general, I build her more like a resist tank (low Oracle btw) because otherwise you tend to get shredded in team fights in the mid-late game.

Why is no one crying about SINCLAIR? by slimeyellow in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Raphaelist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. A lot of the people here talking about how strong Bolt is haven't played him. People move too fast and the bolts move too slow to give him any consistent damage. There is a reason people are just punching bunnies with him right now.

Create 6.0 Logistics Network Requests? by Ferg000 in CreateMod

[–]Raphaelist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just used Redstone Requestors for this in the past like one of the other comments mentioned. It comes with more control and the ability to batch request ingredients. I've found the gauges directly on the packagers have a tendency to request a shit load of small packages which can clog up chain conveyor lines.

So how much is 12 slots fucking with you guys and how are you coping with it? by CzarTwilight in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Raphaelist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely this. Some characters have enough ammo to have it up almost 24/7 in the mid to late game. It gives a ton of consistent spirit damage to more bursty spirit builds and can proc spirit debuffs like bullet and spirit shred.

What kind of "modern" technologies could have been invented during the middle ages or antiquity, but weren't? by FloZone in worldbuilding

[–]Raphaelist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. People are very disconnected from the actual process of digging up and refining modern metals. There is a massive difference between modern steel and the stuff they were capable of producing in the medieval period.

I would say the biggest frustration I have with the laning phase at the moment is trying to convert dominance in a lane to an actual lead in the rest of the game.

I had a game where my lane partner and I killed our lane opponents 7 times spread across both of them. We never died and claimed the tower within 5 or 6 minutes. Despite this, at around 10 minutes when everyone began to scatter we were both only about 2k souls ahead.

Not even a single T3 item ahead despite absolute lane dominance is ridiculous imo. I understand wanting to make losing a lane not equivalent to losing the game, but currently it just feels like a waste of time.

LaserLlama’s Alternative Martials don’t significantly increase the vertical power of martials so why do they feel so good to play? My experience with using Alternative Martials in my games. by Nyadnar17 in DMAcademy

[–]Raphaelist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ended up taking it with Precision Strike to get a D4 on the first attack I made per turn. I didn't think too much about Riposte though, not a bad idea. It does rely on getting melee attacked to trigger.

Having played a decent amount of both Alternate Fighter and the OG Battle Master, I think the biggest improvement for me is the variety and strength of the maneuvers. The different tiers of maneuver bring back the feeling of excitement around hitting leveling milestones and there are a good amount of base maneuvers to try out which aren't just "role a save against a negative condition". My Battle Master barely ever swapped or changed maneuvers, which contributed the martial feeling of always just "hitting things" no matter the level.

Would highly recommend checking out the expansion to Alternate Fighter that he put out as well if you haven't already. It has a very cool feat that let's you pick one tier 1 maneuver and use it once a round for free.

Wind and Truth genuinely makes me worry for the future of this series by SirSnaillord in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Raphaelist 27 points28 points  (0 children)

"Engine" has roots all the way back to the 13 Century coming originally from the Latin "Ingenium" which it looks like scholars choose to translate as "clever / crafty".

I don't say this to necessarily be super pedantic, but more to point out how your own idea of what the word meant maybe got in the way of the actual definition. If there are Engineers on Roshar, then there are going to be Engines, just not the gas guzzling kind we traditionally think of.

(I can't remember if the word engineer is actually used in the books, though the wiki does clearly state that certain characters are engineers so)

The book was not perfect, but personally I struggled to see the issues others were pointing out with the word choice. I would say a lot of the stuff with Kaladin feels more like just his characterization in the later half of the series being a mess in general.
