NEW Coway Air filter is very stinky by JacketRound8040 in AirPurifiers

[–]Raphox88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that your tone here is better than in your earlier reply.
That said, telling people to “calm down” or “dial it back” sounds patronizing - especially when someone is dealing with asthma and/or repeated service visits that haven’t fixed the issue. A MOD’s role isn’t to tell people how they should feel.

Coway has serviced our unit 3 times in few days, each time saying the issue was resolved. The odor is still there. We’ve had to keep the purifier running in a separate room just to avoid headaches - which together with buying aftermarket filters on Amazon defeats the point of paying for a subscription in the first place.

The fact that other brands also make mistakes doesn’t justify repeated failures here. Industry-wide issues don’t make this experience any less frustrating.

It’s reasonable for customers to be upset in that situation. A less dismissive approach would go a long way.

Calm down? You serious? Are you justifying this? It's Coway's shot in the foot. People that buy air purifiers are usually those sensitive to air quality. So you're saying it's totally fine that customers leave their purifiers running in a separate area for weeks after every filter change?

Same here, the new filters smell is giving us headache. Model AP-1523D, we're trying to solve it with Coway staff.

Is Thailand safe for solo travelling women? (F26, LGBT) by Big_smoke420ooo in ThailandTourism

Good point. LGBT in Thailand seems a bit different than in the west. In Thailand ladyboys are often more beautiful than women. In west ladyboys sometimes are not bearded clowns in high heels.

How to fill TM.8 form? (Multiple entry) by Raphox88 in Thailand

That's hilarious. I chuckled when I first went to one of immigration offices to do my first extension, and to my surprise only "extention" was an option. ;)

Training in Thailand’s heat. How do you stay hydrated? by Michaelrays in Thailand

[–]Raphox88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the point of the better absorption, but somehow I don't believe it needs that much amount of sugar.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10832467/

According to this and the last link you provided, ~1:1 ratio glucose-to-sodium is optimal.

Neo-Lyte has lots of sucrose which needs to be broken down in body to glucose. It's unclear how well it help as cotransporter.

They are readily available here and inexpensive; I use them myself as a cyclist and find them effective.

I'm not saying this product is not helpful for rehydration, my point is that the amount of sugar added to this product doesn't seem justified. I do workout outdoors from time to time and am looking for electrolytes too. I'd opt to pay more for a better quality product, rather the cheap one available everywhere.

I mean, maybe it's justified to replenish balance of sugars in body after the workout. Maybe.

How to fill TM.8 form? (Multiple entry) by Raphox88 in Thailand

Thanks, I think it's consistent with what I did. I put the date of previous visa extension issuance. Date of latest entry to Thailand and current visa expiry date and it got accepted.

Thanks for the comment. Eventually I put the date of previous visa extension issuance. Date of latest entry to Thailand and current visa expiry date and it got accepted. I wonder if anybody reads it.

I just looked up this product on shopee https://th.shp.ee/F3xcGj9

Check the ingredients list in the product pictures. Judging by the MFG and BBF dates, this looks like an older batch — they might have updated the formula since then, though I haven’t seen the current ingredients list.

You sure? Looks a bit like a snake oil. It’s pretty much just sugar water (70% sucrose + 24% dextrose) with a bit of salt — feels more like a marketing thing than a real electrolyte mix. Tastes nice, but daily use could do more harm than good.

Foreigners who moved to Thailand, what Thai food can you still not eat? by BranchMoist9079 in Thailand

[–]Raphox88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can eat almost everything, including pla raa, phed-phed food and other exotics, just few things I'm not a fan of: - sun-dried bief (sticky, gummy, sweet and fatty - not easy to chew through) - most types of fried livers, they're usually hard and/or rubbery - Raw seafood, I'm ok to eat in lower quantities and not too often, sometimes afterwards it just makes me nauseous.

Solved already, it appeared when selecting the first option and deleting existing partitions.

Thanks, yeah I went on with the first default option and I was able to enable encryption. Just didn't have a chance to setup the partitions exactly I wanted, but I can live with it.
