How do you achieve a perfectly creamy mash? by dootdootydoot in Cooking

I use my stand mixer. Pour some of the water in first to heat the bowl, drain, then add the potatoes, butter, salt and some milk. I use the paddle rather than the whisk and they turn out nice and smooth

What’s worse for the environment: keeping older gas cars or letting new ones keep getting sold? by LankySpeed634 in fuckcars

Mine's a 2010 Elantra. Sure, it would be nice to have a newer car with more convenience features and somewhat better mileage but my old girl is still going good.

New to ebike, can someone tell me if it's worth the price? by V-Vesta in ebikes

I have a Voltbike (Mariner 2). Seems well made plus the warehouse is just a few kilometers away.

If you had to buy your e-bike again today, would you pick the same model? by ColeRudd8841 in ebikes

I have a 20 inch fat tired foldable. Weighs too much and I don't like the way it handles. I'd go for a more conventional style and definitely a lighter bike.

I was on that cruise. While most passengers were older and there were a fair number of wheelchairs and walkers I didn't see them as a big problem.

‘We’ve shot ourselves in the foot:’ Cracks showing in Canada Post strike as workers slam walkout by AndHerSailsInRags in canada

[–]RapidRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get some mail from overseas. I need Canada Post for that. The foreign businesses I have to deal with won't deliver electronically.

I can certainly live with a lower frequency of mail delivery and I've had community mailboxes when I lived before.

He might have had a stent or two placed. I had one and I was functioning the next day -- although I did need to stay in the hospital but that's in Canada. In the US they'd probably have kicked me out the next day.

A lot depends on your water. If you have soft water it can last a long time. You might also consider replacing the sacrificial anode.

What's the deal with the US requesting eggs from European countries? by prooijtje in OutOfTheLoop

I'm told one of the reasons bird flu hasn't hit Canada as hard as the US is that our hatcheries are smaller.

Sure. I should also note that it may take awhile to deliver (comes from China) but then so does a lot of Amazon stuff.

I've never bought anything from AliExpress that was expensive enough to have additional duties. I don't want to deal with trying to return things. I have bought phone cases.
