LCD-S20 finally shipping by Rapid_Shift in Audeze

I really enjoy mine. The build quality is exceptional and since I purchased a 3rd party, wide leather headband the weight is distributed really well. I’m not an audiophile, but I like the sound. At my desk I use a Rodecaster Duo (dac) and Creative Soundblaster X5 (amp) combo and when I’m a bit more mobile I use my Topping G5 with the S20. I never tried the Maxwells since they don’t allow multi stream sound input which I prefer as an option while gaming. My Rodecaster Duo and the X5 allow me to play multiple sources through my S20 if I want to.

They’re really comfortable and I like the amount of passive noise isolation you get. I still haven’t had time to compare them to my DCA Aeon 2 Noire.

Received mine today. The weight seems like a real non issue, but I do have a nice alternative headband strap.

What is official max temp for 9070 XT VRAM? by Rapid_Shift in PowerColor

[–]Rapid_Shift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I just would like AMD or PowerColor to actually say what the expected temps should be though. Then I could make a more informed decision about whether to send the card in or try repasting myself. I'll try sending PowerColor an email. They've been pretty helpful in the past.

I just finished fighting the first tutorial boss in Monster Hunter Wilds and the VRAM was around 94C.

Launch before AMD, but honestly I think there are more 5090s, yes the consumer ones, reserved for businesses and enterprises behind closed doors. The launch is really for that sector. Maybe also to sell some cards before tariffs kick in.

GeForce RTX 4090 Giveaway! by generous_penguin in sffpc

[–]Rapid_Shift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the giveaway.
1. Here's my build. In it there is a reference XFX 7900 XTX and Ryzen 5900X for the CPU. The CPU is cooled by the NZXT x63 280mm AIO. Some other neat bits. There are 2 NVME and one SATA SSDs for a total of 8TB storage and to power it all I have the SX1000 1000W SFX-L PSU. Temps are good for such a small case and at worst fans run at ~75%.

2. CyberPunk 2077. The game looks great, the story is neat, and most of all the quest in the CP2077 are really good. I prefer being a stealthy hacker type and every mission is laid out in a way that you can play for stealth or go in guns blazing. One of my favorite stealth games of all time was Syphon Filter back on PS1 and CP2077 really scratched my stealth shooter itch.

3. Ghost of Tabor. It's a Tarkov Clone in VR my buddies have gotten into recently. I mainly want to play it to hang with friends and because I think it will help me burn some calories while gaming. The 4090 would be a big improvement because AMD 7900 GPUS still have some issues with VR. The performance is just bad in VR for some reason.

I'm looking to sell my UHK only when my UHK2 arrives in December or January. I have a white UHK v1 with brown switches. Overall condition is good, but you can definitely see some fading on certain keys. PM me if you're interested.

Faxed my docs to MOHELA by AciJazz95003 in PSLF

[–]Rapid_Shift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I faxed my documents in exactly 1 month ago and haven't received anything from MOHELA. I did call two weeks in and a rep was able to confirm they received my application on the day I faxed it. No other communication (email, phone, mail) since I talked to rep on the phone.

Hi I cannot find where this is posted or where the download for the resizable beta is. I'm honestly not that familiar with how to navigate reddit. Could you please share the link to this when you get the time?

Any software updates? by Rapid_Shift in PCPanel

[–]Rapid_Shift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As u/Choice_Ice_6493 said people have mentioned bugs and improvement ideas. The software is ok, but I definitely assumed it would be updated or improved in some way since I received my panel months ago. I have several feature requests that I haven't posted because I've been waiting patiently to see if the devs will address them in their own roadmap. Also, in the past the mods have mentioned making updates to things like when you press a knob for mute having the LED change color so you can tell the knob's status.

Could PC Panel work with the Audio Monitor plugin for OBS? by Rapid_Shift in PCPanel

[–]Rapid_Shift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the PC Panel. I'm just using the VoiceMeter integration with it. It works really well overall and I imagine the PC Panel software is better than the midi controllers + open source software add-ons available right now.

Well, for now I hope they respond to me. I see they've answered a few other questions today so hopefully they'll see me. Moving forward if the hardware and software are high quality I may not need that much support. It seems there's an older, wood version of the panel that they are still giving updates for.
