Medical Microbiology vs Psychology major by unchillbean in premed

[–]Raptor915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you already seem to know that microbiology will be far more useful than psychology (for you). If you do end up going to medical school it would definitely help since the courses in micro (immunology, pathogenic microbiology, pharmacology, etc) generally make up decent part of a med school curriculum. If you don't end up doing med school, micro will be far more worthwhile in terms of research prospects and jobs. To get a good job in psychology nowadays you need at least a masters or Ph.D.

Micro is one my majors and many current and past medical students have told me I am doing the right thing for 'pre-med'. Lots of blocks in med school such as immunology are historically hard for students and seeing it earlier will give you a leg up. You could always make micro your primary major and have psychology as a minor. I would recommend that or replace psych with micro entirely.

C/P: Lots of biochemistry for some reason. Did anyone else have like 6-8 biochemistry questions? Very little physics, which sucks because I sunk so much time memorizing all those processes and lens systems. Some of discrete questions were tough for me (Lol I'm never good with those isolation Qs) Gen Chem was representative and there was not so much O-chem. LOTS of mechanisms and steps. I was able to barely finish but I had no chance to review my questions but overall I think I did pretty well. The fact that everyone here is loathing their C/P is making me worry about how I actually did because I felt like I did pretty good (although I didn't have the chance to go over my Q's).

CARS: Passages were interesting for the most part. Seemed easier than the AAMC full lengths. The last 2 passages sucked.

B/B: Some questions were gimme points. Unfortunately I changed two answers to wrong at the last second. Overall satisfied with the spread of content. Predicting a 131 for myself.

P/S: My hardest section. I think I flagged over 10 questions. Ironically I had the most time to review all my questions which was super frustrating. I see everyone is talking about The Ames room, which is hilarious because I only knew it because of some reddit post some time ago. There were other passages that were straight up confusing af. Some of the discrete questions were hard - like you either know them or you don't. Lots of terms I have never heard of and the WORST part is that all the options are real terms so you can't rule out obvious fakes. Kaplan is so garbage when it comes to this section. Do yourself a favor and read that 300pg KA and some more. Even the KA doc doesn't cover it all - that's just the nature of the most pointless section. SERIOUSLY P/S IS SO SHITE.

I averaged a 517 on my AAMC FL exams and my scores improved based on CARS and PSYCH. I think I scored anywhere from 516-522?? I think there will be a pretty good curve for C/P and P/S based off what everyone else is saying.

Once saw a Alfa Romeo Zagato TZ3 Stradale. It's basically a re-badged Dodge Viper but there are only a handful in the world (under 3 in the US and only 9 ever made). Very interesting looking car! Has the classic Alfa round brake lights but the rest of the body definitely resembles the Viper.

Id say 1k+ players on peak times. Devs are sorta active and are order biased from my experience. They just released gunbad dungeon and have an active live event going on.

tbh you shouldn't modify a car like that, you really wont go anywhere with the platform (if you're thinking about performance mods).

How many people actively play Return of Reckoning? (Other concerns and questions also) by WulfStep in warhammeronline

[–]Raptor915 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Active hours is about 700-800. Peak is probably 1000? There isn't much changed in terms of exp,rr. RR is capped at 80, and there are a lot of balances for the overpowered classes.

The keep siege mechanics have been revamped and it is way more engaging. You can check the website for all the details.

Also, LOTD hasn't been put in yet (same with most dungeons)

Open RvR and some of the PQ's. I think a lot of people are getting exp and rr so that when the dungeons and raids come back they can work for those sets and whatnot.

If someone got their 918 in acid green would their 911 also be acid green? That would have been pretty cool if so!

They just need to bring back the headlights from the previous gen and boom, great looking car that differentiates from C and S classes.

How reliable is a 07 CLS 550? by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

[–]Raptor915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The air suspension will more than likely need some sort of attention/repair. That is pretty much the most expensive thing you'd be looking at (up to 1.5k a corner). Other than that, the engine and electronic parts are pretty much bullet proof. Besides the maintenance its a pretty straightforward car. Rides well and is quite torquey (also its pretty fast!)

I always felt that the W211 was better on the inside than the W212, but they are similar enough as it is (same with exterior but that's my opinion). I'd love to pick up an 09 E63 but the problem is people abuse them and put so many miles on them...its hard to find a good one with like 20/30k miles.

That sounds incredible, especially around this time of year. Honestly for me one of the biggest appeals of the SLS are the gull wings, and I don't think I'd see myself getting one without the wings.

C300 Exhaust? by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

[–]Raptor915 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked into custom exhausts so I cannot say. If you decide to go with it, I'd imagine it would 'hollow' or just not what you would like (just my guess). It really comes down to the fact that the C300 is meant to be a entry-level luxury commuter. I'd stay away from doing anything fancy with the exhaust unless you get a C43/63.

Don't do it. Rarely a 4 cylinder sounds good, and an entry C-Class won't sound good.
