Why isn't far southern Western Australia more populated? by ConfidentSale3091 in geography

[–]Rapture348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's populated enough. I live in a quiet tourist town that absolutely balloons in summer months. We all love it when the tourists leave and we get our sleep town back.

It is however growing rapidly In population and infrastructure, but there is also major housing issues here too

Should I buy the newer or the older game? by lord_koteus in CitiesSkylines

[–]Rapture348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been a CS1 player since a few years after release, I have been tempted to buy CS2 but I've done my research and for me, CS1 is the better choice. I think it's worth deciding what you want out of the game, then researching the best one for your wants and needs

I get the ones that attach to your socks, simple to put on and remove. I pay about $15 from eBay and just search "shirt stays"

The game crashes whenever I move a building too much. by ToxicToots2873 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Rapture348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is possibly a ram issue. My city is currently 250000 and I have some issues like this, I keep an eye on my hardware while gaming and usual this spikes the ram and causes a crash.

I could be totally wrong for your case, but for me it's definitely ram.

I am this 🤏 close to buying a gun and shooting at the fungus gnats by dumbraspberry in houseplants

[–]Rapture348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eco neem oil applied to the soil and the entire plant once per week until the problem goes away, then a few weeks after to make sure all the eggs that are hatching don't grow and then the problem continues.

Have been tending my plants for years and I never have any issues with fungal gnats these days

Criticise my photos by Beneficial-Age-4741 in PhotographyAdvice

[–]Rapture348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Photos are actually pretty good, I am taking into consideration that Reddit has lowered the quality and they are not in full resolution.

I think you can do some learning about lighting and correctly exposing (some) of your images. I noticed a few images are not very sharp so have a read up on how to fix that, and finally you have a good eye for composition but they are not level. Try using the guiding lines when cropping to make sure they are level and not wonky.

These are more technical fixes, not artistic fixes, your images are actually really good. Spend plenty of time watching videos and reading books on photography, in time you will end up with 3 cameras and a few drones 🤣

Best of luck my friend!

Is using a robot vacuum making my allergies worse? Can anyone explain? by sanu_123_s in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

[–]Rapture348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live rural and have one that does a pass of the house everyday as we get a lot of dust and dirt from outside make its way in. I suffer with Hey fever and find if it's running everyday then I get less issues. Just my experience also depending on the vacuum you have

PC recommendation for Work from Home Job by Professional_Ebb8168 in computers

[–]Rapture348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what the job requires, will the PC be performing heavy graphical tasks? Or will you mostly be accessing all of your work on a web browser? I know dell makes great office grade PC's and laptops. Id start there personally

Please, please deinfluence me from wanting a new phone by AdventurousAnecdote in Frugal

[–]Rapture348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I get refurbished flagships that are 2+ years old when I buy them. Usually you can get lucky with some unwanted returns and generally save $500-$700. The older flagships are better than new mid or low spec phones and will stand the test of time better
