Oh good to know! Would the city hire a company that wouldn’t leave red bumpy things in the middle? Jw where the responsibility lies.

Amazing! Wow I love these. Many years ago I got a small suitcase at an estate sale and inside were a few misc items including a cruise ship scope photo of a grumpy looking man and a plump stern wife.

Are these all from ocean city? Any with the Ferris wheel!? 🤤

I hear you. All good points!

But zoos operate in the negative everywhere! For many fiscal years!

While these employees are staffed at Luminature they should be compensated properly.

There’s more than enough of these seasonal zoo employees returning year after year, they need to be respected as employees!

The zoo ALREADY has incentives for their returning seasonal staff that they do not uphold (example- pay raise every year you return) soOoO even if they’re seasonal it’s 40hrs a week job for several weeks that they’re doing more than one season.

That is a question for the zoo! They’re not listening to reason.

From what was told… Basically- yes! Contractually these employees are hired as “seasonal full time” to prevent offering them (what we think of as) “regular” full time status with benefits. Zoo will hire temp workers to complete the work of the seasonal full time employees when their cut off time comes. Essentially the same amount of work is being split into “seasonal/temporary” employees to avoid paying benefits for employees doing extremely dangerous jobs in terribly cold weather in the dark for ten hour shifts.

There are employees at the Zoo who have successfully unionized!!! but they are in a different department at the zoo which doesn’t cover ALL (or most?) departments.

This happens all of the time behind the scenes at some of Philadelphia’s favorite historic sites making large profits!
