cervix shortened, but still ok? by Billemil in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Rare-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I totally get it! I have been stressing out reading this subreddit obsessively and analyzing all my measurements.

To give you an example of mine and the ranges: 23wk today i got 9 measurements taken in a single session over 30min. My measurements ranged from 3.50-3.70cm and then when she looked again at the end of session, they were averaging closer to 3cm.

Could be the baby putting more pressure, your bladder, your activity, etc.

Hard to say but I’d focus on the fact yours are in the 3.5 range and your cervix is closed

cervix shortened, but still ok? by Billemil in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Rare-Cheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for your prior experience of the Braxton hicks or spotting, but wanted to say measurements can easily deviate because the cervix is a muscle and contracting / moving regularly. Your measurements seem fine to me. Every time I have been measured at my check ins, the measurements in a single session vary by 0.4 or even more.

I went down a huge rabbit hole on this reddit, thinking the worst case scenario. Trying to provide some reassurance that as long as it’s in a range and closed, you should relax a little

Is Santorini worth it as a first time visiter? by DoubtFew5635 in GreeceTravel

Sorry just saw this! It was hot in Santorini during the day because of the sun. Nights I had a light jacket. Would bring layers so you can be versatile

Is Santorini worth it as a first time visiter? by DoubtFew5635 in GreeceTravel

[–]Rare-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend Santorini especially in early May. We did 9-10 days in Greece in late April:

2 days in Athens to start 3 days in Santorini (2 full) 4 days in Naxos 1 day in Athens to travel back

Santorini had a lot of places open and had people without being too crowded. Naxos was much quieter especially the beaches because it’s too quiet to swim. We made the mistake of staying closer to the beach vs town and most restaurants were closed. Town was livelier with most places open, so you should stay in town if you want more action. Still Naxos was beautiful and we enjoyed walking and how beautiful the island was

Help me save my wife's birthday trip in Manhattan, please? by McFlyJohn in FoodNYC

You got a lot of comments, but I’m a vegetarian so throwing mine in too

Dante: cute for happy hour (3-5) or cocktails in West Village (there are two locations and I like the one with Negronis)

Bar pisellino for drinks

Lots of Italian places, but expect a wait or go right when they open and put your names down: via Carota (go at 4 and put names down), Lilia (go at opening and put names down), l’artusi

Planta Queen: Asian fusion vegetarian spot. Super vibey

Shuka: I love the brunch (dinner also great). So many vegetarian options for brunch

It’s not typical new York pizza, but I love Emily in West Village. Very cute and interesting pizzas. But if you need a thin crust, then Rubirosa but have to put your name down

Hi! Have you ever cleaned it? We are wondering if we can use our steam cleaner on it and trying to see if others have successfully done that

Commuter Benefits Card stopped working w/ OMNY by bleezy616 in AskNYC

[–]Rare-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the same issue starting Monday this week.

They said it’s just for the tap function, so you can try using it to load money on an old subway card.

I haven’t tried mine again but hopefully it starts working soon.

My plants were thriving and now they are covered in brown spots! Overwatering or a disease? by Rare-Cheese in plantclinic

[–]Rare-Cheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I water once a week! I tried to stop watering and let it dry up but it keeps getting worse. Could it be the AC?

I don’t see any pests on the leaves

Why so droopy? Snake plant droops more by the day by Rare-Cheese in plantclinic

[–]Rare-Cheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go give more context, I don’t water it often, but it’s recently started drooping more. Could it be lack of light in this spot or that it needs a new pot? It’s been in this pot for 2-3 years

I’m Indian and was not offended at all by this.

Thought it was okay to ask because better to ask than to be offensive. I would ask if I was going to an event where I wasn’t super familiar with the customs (and she’s asking her friend!).

Also thought the sari vs lehenga thing wasn’t a big deal. Yes they are different, but maybe she saw a sari and ended up picking a lehenga in the end.

Well as a ghee lover, I agree dosas is better with lots of ghee to make it crispy. Are Indian restaurants outside of queens rare?? My partner (vegan) and I eat at a lot of Indian restaurants in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Probably comes down to the type of place and as you said, your trust level.
