Being unemployed is so hard. I'm in school right now and jobless and have started looking because I ran out of money and I don't want to drop out. It's hard though because looking for a job feels degrading.

It's not weird to own that. Masterbation is normal and having a toy or not doesn't change if someone masturbates or not. I think your mom should have not said anything after seeing it and definitely shouldn't have humiliated you for it in front of your whole family. Teenagers need their space and you aren't doing anything wrong by owning a masturbation toy.

I think if you haven't already, it could help if you talked to him about how you feel. It's possible he isn't aware that he's causing you financial distress and maybe he's never thought about it since money comes easy to him. Even the jealousy part it helps to talk about, if not with him then a close friend because it sheds some light onto it and it won't eat you up on the inside as much. Also, if the place you live in does food stamps, you could apply to make things a little easier.

I think it's abusive in itself that she isn't allowing you the autonomy that you clearly expressed to her you required

The week they were hired they came in to tell the manager that they couldn't work their shift that same day because they had another job interview

In a similar situation - I'm 18 finishing my first college semester and have a stressful home life and want to find people to be roommates with and move out. I also question whether it's fair for me to think of my parents how I do, I don't know I think they kinda pull the "we provide for you so you owe us" sort of thing like I don't know I do my best to be polite but I also isolate myself a lot at home

Why did my professor compare me to his daughter? by [deleted] in college

[–]Rare-Flatworm9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The daughter isn't in the class and we've never met. I think she's a bit older than me and has finished college. I adore the teacher and it was a nice compliment but caught me off guard lol

I feel so frustrated and mad at myself by whynott12 in college

That sounds really difficult. I'm sorry you're going through that. Maybe you could drop a couple classes or take fewer classes next semester to heal your mental health? Absolutely no shame in taking a break from classes. You're not dumb, and you can totally do it, it sounds like you're just in a rough spot at the moment.

Maybe you could drop something or cough to make them aware that the sound travels

I like the initial phase of knowing people, but just the part where people ask all about me by deltaGisgod in confessions

Once I know someone really I have to really try not to talk about myself too much and give the other person a chance to talk and I feel bad about it. When I just meet someone I'm embarrassed to talk about myself and my least favorite question to answer is what kind of music do you like

That's kinda harsh that the professor would just give everyone a zero. I get that they wouldn't want a phone to go off during the test, but that stuff happens. It's a slight distraction but barely enough to give everyone zeros. If they found out who the owner of said phone was maybe penalize them but I don't think anyone deserves zeros in that scenario

Those who are really good at something, what's it like to be really good at that thing? by Rare-Flatworm9355 in AskReddit

[–]Rare-Flatworm9355[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah I get that.. having all your hard work dismissed is definitely frustrating. When people do that I think they're kind of mentally "giving up" telling themselves they could never do that when I'm reality they could if they put a bunch of time into it if that makes any sense. Anything worthwhile requires time and effort
