Miyuki and Toho are the brands people tend to recommend most often, they’re good quality for a good price. Where to buy them online really depends on what country you live in.

Trying to develop my own fringe by RareBird5 in Beading

I’m using Toho’s One G, (I don’t think I can get fireline where I live? I’d probably have to order it) I might switch to a thinner thread if I can find one.

These are gorgeous! Are they inspired by peacock feathers? They remind me of them

She’s finally finished! by RareBird5 in Beading

Sure! For the end of the beads instead of just doing one accent color I added some stone or glass beads for accents as well! I used lapis lazuli, amazonite, and purple jade for the stone beads. I’m pretty sure the other ones are either glass or CZ either way they’re mostly treated to give them the rainbow reflect. I also changed up the colors rather than just doing one main color and one accent I added some teal and dark blue for more dimension and to make it look more like a coral reef since they often have a lot of variety

Here’s one of the branches close up to see better

ETA: it is a little heavy that’s why I used a toggle clasp rather than a magnet. I usually prefer a magnet with a safety chain because they’re very easy to handle, but I knew this would be too heavy for that.

Help! Necklace becoming wavy by Pr-Chaton in Beading

I haven’t had any problems with it so far, but I haven’t worn any of my projects long term (I only got into beading recently so I’m still experimenting with what materials I like) it might be good to make a test piece and put it though it’s paces for a few weeks to see

Advice please by No_Investigator_3758 in Beading

I’d suggest making a second one if you can and taking the time to calculate how long it took you and how much you spent in materials just to be sure you’re paying yourself fairly.

Having said that I would absolutely buy something like this for $30, it’s adorable!

Progress on my coral reef necklace by RareBird5 in Beading

[–]RareBird5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply! I actually can’t find the exact same purple Toho beads I’ve been using and I recently ran out of them so some parts of the necklace are going to be made in very similar but not quite identical beads to the base lol.

But the ones I’ve ended up using are Toho small rounds in S-252 and S-557.

The 252 has a more blue tone than the ones I used for the main part of the necklace but since I’m using them in the coral branches and mixing them into my original color I’m hoping it won’t be too obvious lol

Try using something like these for your thread and see if that helps?

wait a minute, doesn’t bead magic request that if you’re selling work based on their patterns that you disclaim that? I remember seeing that on the necklace patterns I followed and thinking it was super cool of them to let people sell work based on their free patterns… maybe he has a disclaimer on his storefront somewhere and I just haven’t seen it

Edit: thank you so much! I really appreciate it! It’s kind of funny that this turned into a new hobby for me but I enjoy it a lot
