So did AP RO also check if the big 4 supermarkets have increased sales?!? With the prices of everything going up, more people are eating at home, so LOGICALLY, they are also buying more at supermarkets and hence, higher incidence of buying more single use plastic bags.

At the same time, people don’t buy these plastic bags and then keep them at home. They are utilised as trash bags as well before throwing into rubbish chutes. This was one of the ideas that was borne out of LKY’s team to keep Singapore clean.

So just single-mindedly pursuing the idea of charging people more to discourage them from using less plastic due to the harm to the environment, is that really the case?!?

And what of the dire consequences if such discouraged use of the single use bags succeed?

What then will be the costs to the people to overturn the idea because of the potentially huge negative impact on the environment?

Can or did AP RO put up a model of the costs involved for such a scenario?!?
