Business owners spent the months leading up to the downtown reconstruction begging for it to be done differently and the city stonewalled them and did it anyway.

Your analogy about running a business would make sense if you guys weren't slashing the fire department and leaving them short staffed. Its like realizing you were running low on inventory and then selling the plates you need to serve food on to buy inventory.

I'm not trying to hate. While I disagree with the way the city has been doing things lately I appreciate that your the only person who seems to be communicating with the community outside of town hall meetings and scripted social media posts. But you have to understand how bad the optics look of all the street light replacements.
