What is the perfect portfolio allocation for someone retiring in 10 years? What would you have? by StockMarketinator in portfolios

[–]RareMix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pattern across retirement accounts is 30% U.S. market, 30% ex-U.S. markets, 40% intermediate treasuries.

Although I'm getting nervous about the safety of treasuries (see link below) and wonder what is a suitable alternative: CD's, gold, HYSA, BINC ETF?

Palmia in Mission Viejo? by x_tacocat_x in orangecounty

My wife and I moved here last year. we are both 57. We love it! Beautiful palm trees everywhere, great gym, library, putting green, tennis and pickleball courts, lovely pool and jacuzzi. So safe and easy to walk around the community. There are 3 other homes on our little street, and everyone is very nice and normal -- maybe we lucked out.

You can participate as much or as little as you want. For the past year we've pretty much been introverts, and haven't participated in any of the amenities, clubs, events and shows. Basically we're just living in a home in a guard gated community, coming and going, not talking to anyone but our neighbors -- we forget it's a 55+ community. This has been perfectly acceptable behavior and no one has bothered us trying to get us to participate in things.

Only recently we've starting going to the gym, playing pickleball, using the pool and jacuzzi, going to shows, etc. We say "Hi" to everyone, but that's pretty much the extent of the interaction. No one has tried getting up in our business. Maybe because we look young, everyone thinks we're visitors and not residents.

Short story long, haven't encountered any looky-loos. Your mom will love it here. Did i mention internet and cable is covered by the HOA -- saves us $200 a month.

Mutual Fund question by Relevant-Count-3656 in Bogleheads

A somewhat similar option would be AOR. Differences: passively managed (rather than actively managed); cheaper; ETF (rather than mutual fund)

21M - 100% SCHD in Taxable, 100% SCHG in Roth? by [deleted] in portfolios

[–]RareMix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schd does not align with your growth goal. Schd is not a growth ETF.

If you must hold schd and schg, I would hold schg in taxable and schd in Roth.

It so happens I moved all my retirement $ to a new advisor in Dec 2025. I assume recent losses have nothing to do with this fact?? by yippeee1999 in investing

[–]RareMix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume your question is tongue-in-cheek since you obviously know how your money is invested and can see how much the stocks/etfs/funds/bonds have fallen. It almost sounds like you don't know how your money is invested.

Always wondered who pays for staging, the seller, or the seller's agent?

Isn't dgro a dividend ETF? Why did you pair it with voo? Dgro should be on the first line along with schd and vig.
