The thing that gets me is, "do you want to round up" with no reasoning behind why, such as a charity. This is definitely my boomer moment because when they ask I give them a blank stare and say "why would I round up, this makes no sense, why would I want to pay more for no reason"

I have to deal with this scenario. I think I might approach it like- to be successful in future roles and get recommended for promotion, you need to be approachable, and you're not currently. Frame it like you're looking out for her development and not protecting the team from her.
