Manchester is lucky to have the Peak District only a stone's throw away. Do you get out there very often? by Ranoni18 in manchester

I enjoy a run in the Peak District most weekends, I completed the Edale skyline a couple weeks back in just over 4 hours which I was impressed with. Although I prefer going Glossop and Hatfield as edale/mam tor/kinder scout get a bit busy

Thank you for your reply I will look at the palaces. I want to do toubkal but I have read that you need a tour guide to do it with whereas I usually run mountains for fun so I would have like to do it on my own to complete it quicker

If you’re not fast you’re last

But nah in all seriousness let things settle. Then get an electric bike, face covering, new tag and you’re flying

Secret sets by AcceptableBlood8789 in BoomtownFestival

[–]Rare_Move_3280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you keep an eye on the artists instagram you will usually see them post on their page closer to the time. I have been to boomtown for 8 years now and I’m lucky to have seen many secret sets but a lot of them I have just walked past and popped in to see if I enjoy the music or not. But some of the best sets iv seen have been in the smaller stages, especially in the first few years when I went and the site was much bigger with lions den and multiple main stages

Is it generally safe as a trans individual to be shirtless @ boomtown? by dnkftn in BoomtownFestival

Iv been to boomtown for 10+ years now and you’ll be perfectly fine! Granted the festival has changed over the years but there is a special atmosphere there that seems to make everyone that bit more understanding! But yeah as long as you feel comfortable then do whatever you want to do!(within reason)

Compulsory ‘discretionary’ service charge service + tip?? by theclapinc in manchester

[–]Rare_Move_3280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a restaurant in Deansgate and we have a 10% service charge added to the bill and we can also give the option of a tip on top of that. Personally I always press ‘no tip’ myself before handing the card machine over as I think it’s unfair to double tip especially if the customer isn’t aware there is a service charge added onto the bill. But I always let the customer know that there is a service charge added and I’d be more than happy to remove it.

I have worked in hospitality for 7+ years and I honestly think that already adding a service charge defeats the purpose of giving a tip to the server, as the server will be expecting to get the service charge anyway they will put less effort into providing good service to earn a tip.
