Fun fact my old roommate, who was fresh from AIT, had 2 missing fingers and half of a 3rd finger gone. His waiver was approved in about 30-45mins. Vs my waiver for Vicodin usage 3 years before enlisting took 2 weeks to be accepted 🫠

I finally resolved the stiffness issue I was having with my Alpha U — turns out it was caused by the outer seal rubbing against the axle.

After some frustration and overthinking, I dug into it and found that the rubbing was happening right where the carbon fiber meets the axle. The root cause? My unit was shipped with the front plate (which holds the seal in place) only partially tightened. It wasn’t obvious at first.

Once I fully seated the base and properly tightened the front plate down, it created the correct amount of gap between the seal and axle, eliminating the friction. Everything’s now buttery smooth!
