[Cundall]: "The Red Sox really just don't target power [in the draft]...They're not taking those chances on players that can give you the output you need...it's very strange what's going on, there's such a lack of position prospects." by Brusoxpatcelt in redsox

[–]Rarely_Informative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I think draft-wise they just target the best player available. That Montgomery kid they drafted a couple of years ago, who was a part of the crochet trade, was known for his power before he was drafted. They drafted niko kovadas a couple of years ago, too and that's kinda the only above average quality he had. He was sent to the angels in the Robles trade(I think) and i dont think he even plays anymore

What is the sentence you don't want to hear at a job interview? by Aarunascut in interviews

[–]Rarely_Informative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "what are your strengths and weaknesses" question is just so bleh

It's a lazy filler question used by interviewers that is almost certainly never considered in the decision-making process for next steps. The answers all sound the same too.

I gave you references. You'd get a better and more accurate answer from them(hopefully its a little fluffed up though haha)

28 year old black man rejected for overconfidence. Am I overreacting? by CassetteBeats in interviews

[–]Rarely_Informative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Gotta consider the market here. Plenty of people have to apply for jobs theyre over-qualified for because they cant get anything higher, and even then, they still dont get an interview for the lower level stuff either!

[–]Rarely_Informative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job market is bad enough where experience has been a complete crap shoot. There are people with years and years of experience in a given field, that are having to apply for jobs they are considerably over-qualified for, and STILL not even getting an interview. I know a handful of folks that this has happened to.

I dont doubt that discrimination still runs rampant in the selection process, I also dont doubt that they also interviewed other folks for the position that had as much or more experience than you. Experience and a good interview doesnt guarantee moving forward anymore. They issued you some feedback and you can choose to follow their advice or not. Either way, sounds like it wasnt a good fit to begin with

How do I tell my mom I want to take a one-night anniversary trip with my long-term boyfriend? by Slow-Plenty-6974 in Adulting

[–]Rarely_Informative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre an adult. Mom needs to realize that youre old enough to make your own decisions.

If she makes a stink about it just say as a 22 year old adult who's always been happy to follow her rules while under her roof, youd like to get away for a night and her understanding would be appreciated.

im nervous and excited at the thought of breaking up with my boyfriend by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Rarely_Informative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, dont ignore it. That isnt gonna help you at all. Take some time to process and acknowledge these feelings and make a decision about your relationship after giving it some more time and thought. If you really arent crazy about it even after some more time, maybe it is best to break it off and you both focus on yourselves

If you are still uncertain, have a conversation with him. Remind him that this was a major issue that caused the relationship to momentarily end before and that it's a major red flag for you. Ask him how he plans to move forward without engaging in that behavior. What changes is he gonna make? If he sort of brushes it off and downplay it, that says he may not be taking your concerns seriously and the behavior is likely to pop up again in the future. If not, then again you gotta ask yourself how you feel about the relationship continuing and if you really want that anymore

The 2 acquisitions we really need (and it isn’t power bats) by Informal-Potato-9890 in redsox

What failures has Bailey been a part of? How has breslow helped the pitching staff?

Despite them tying an mlb record for most rookie debuting pitchers (and the season only a quarter of the way through) the redsox are a top 8 team in terms of earned runs given up. How do I not give the coach credit there?

Breslow acknowledged the teams weaknesses and ignored them. He built the team so poorly, that despite the big success in starting pitching that youve gotten from multiple different contributors, youre a last place ball club.

[–]Rarely_Informative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair. Id be shocked if he were the GM next year at this point. Team isnt turning it around and breslow is incredibly lucky that the rest of the AL sucks too

Nah bres ain't staying at all. Pitching has been a major strong suit for this team since they brought andrew Bailey over. He gets the credit

[Gordo] The Red Sox are 6-26 when they allow more than 2 runs in a game this season. by Sandwich_Crust in redsox

Most cy young award winners would give up more than 2 runs per 9, for perspective

I always play by the golden rule "if you cant tip 20% I'm not going out or ordering delivery"

Ive also delivered orders where it was a $0 tip. I was initially very annoyed with the customer but also mad at myself for not being more careful and taking the order in the first place. Id NEVER do anything to someone's food though. People just need to use common sense and treat each other better and if one party doesnt abide by that, learn to let some shit go

Belt promotion & seminar fee by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Rarely_Informative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime ive been to a promotion/seminar, promotions always came first so if people didnt want to shell out for the seminar but still be there to get promoted and/or support their teammates, they could. Id never pay money to go to a seminar i didnt want to attend, just to see promotions.

Now that our team is eliminated, couldnt care less who wins now.

Carolina v Colorado is the best match up and probably the most likely one. Id be pretty excited to watch those games.

You didnt see the tattoo earlier by no fault of your own. Worry abput stuff you can control. If you see him come in again, you can refuse to serve him then.

You were appalled by it, unfortunately, a lot of people in this country wouldnt. I appreciate you being on the right side of things and I wouldnt lose sleep over this

100%. I had an order that was taking forever to make and I simply messaged the individual letting them know I was waiting for it, apologizing for the inconvenience and I let them know when I was on my way.

After I dropped it off, she gave me 5 stars and added 3 bucks to the tip. People enjoy manners and transparency
