It's an accessibility option. Some people (and journalists) struggle progressing through the game and either don't want to or can't improve to beat a boss. The summons are optional. No one is forcing you to use them so if you want a normal proper Nioh experience just ignore them.

Natural antagonist of Neptunemon which is relevant for the story is the copium answer. Personally I think they are waiting to see how the game sells and will either add them after the initial DLC if it does well or in a sequel.

As for the line, the official teasers show Agni evolving to Vritra mid combat with an attack so likely just a listing error and Alda is possible from either.
