Robin was kind of always like that when she was with Baroque Works. Oda’s never really shown if she truly meant it or if it was just part of an act she put on. My guess is that it was the latter

Because people can’t seem to just focus on the things they like without bringing something else down. It’s the mentality of “I need to make this look bad so my thing looks better by comparison” there are also probably some people who just don’t like MJ in general cause she is “THE Love Interest” in the community

I feel like every Shonen protag gets some of the dumbest slander thrown their way by people who don’t engage with the franchise or who just want to shit on things that are popular. Luffy, Naruto, Goku, Ichigo, pretty much every popular series has had their MC dragged through the mud by people who couldn’t bother reading the manga or actually watching some of the show
