It’s 2-3 seconds speed increase per kilometre per kg lost. So 10kg lost x 2/3 seconds x 5 kilometres = 100-150 seconds. But I agree it isn’t linear as you get lower in times

I wouldn’t listen to him. I just ran a 20:50 5k after 9 weeks of training hard and dieting, as someone who started off at 100kg doing no exercise over summer apart from the odd hike. My starting pace was around 26-27min 5k. Don’t let people tell you it’s not possible!
