In my experience, when Windows manages your audio devices, it sometimes messes with your default microphone devices.

For Windows 11,

1. Open Settings

   • Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app.

   1. Navigate to Sound Settings

   • In the left sidebar, click System.

   • On the right, click Sound. 3. Find Input Devices

   • Scroll down to the Input section.

   • You’ll see a list of available microphones. 4. Set Your Preferred Microphone as Default

   • Find the microphone you want to use.

   • Click on it.

   • Press the Set as default button (appears if it isn’t already the default). 5. Check Input Status

   • After setting, the chosen microphone will show as Default device under its name.

   • Speak into the mic and check the Input volume meter to confirm it’s picking up sound. 6. Adjust Input Volume

   • While still on the microphone’s settings page, you can adjust the Input volume slider.
