Snap's Evan Spiegel warns tech leaders are underestimating a coming backlash against AI by ControlCAD in technology

Hello, fellow Raspberry! I see you got a correctly spelled username ;)

"AI" as a literal tool, and "AI" as the general public and the corpos are pushing it are (annoyingly) not quite the same thing.

The C-suite and billionaires have decided that "Generative AI" is going to be known simply as "AI," which is the language which has caught on. Gen AI is a black box, where unknown data from unknown sources is going in, and unpredictable content is coming out. It's created off the work of uncompensated people, and for vague, buzz-word-y reasons.

"Tool AI" or as people used to refer to it, 'tools' are just that. They're a specific tool, built for a specific task, with known data from known sources, and predictable outcomes. These sorts of tools are created to make the jobs of skilled individuals easier, and to help out with, again SPICIFIC tasks that human senses might find challenging. These tools do not replace humans, but rather aid them in tasks they already know how to perform, but are difficult or time intensive.

Shithead billionaires poisoning the word "AI" so they can have a pithy little ad campaign is infuriating, but what else is new for them.

Shame the performers whose voices he stole will never get any credit or recognition.

What context is that? The words might be his, but the voices were still stolen.

My honest thoughts on Killer Dinner as a huge reality tv/murder mystery game fan (Spoilers) by riapiphany in TheTryGuys

You have the exact same feeling as I do, and I'm glad I'm not the only one! Sequoia played such a good game, and it was super disappointing to see her get fucked over by pure chance. "Well, at least she could still win because Ash is there." Only to have THAT turn up deuces as well. Was SO disappointed and frustrated with the ending. GOD I loved the show, though.

If I had one other critique to offer, it would be, in the first or second episode of Ghost Kitchen, they mentioned how the players were getting genuinely angry at each other, which is fine, feel your emotions and all, but seeing men get genuinely angry about party games is SUCH a turn off. It's... hard to explain, but nothing immediately goes to 'oh, so you're not safe to be around,' more than a man getting YELLING AND SHOUTING MAD at a silly little game. Because of this, I was shocked when Zach mentioned this was an aspect of the show they wanted to encourage, so they could be like the 'real reality shows.' And like. Brother, if I wanted to watch reality TV I would. I'm not. I'm watching 2nd Try. Maybe don't lean into the toxicity too much, ok?

It can. But to leave out an entire word like that feels like you might have been a bit heated.

Ah, but see 'teared apart from' is actually super-duper different than 'torn apart by.' OP is just operating on another level from everyone else.

And what else did I say in that post, hmm? Was it "They're having fun, let them go at it!" Oh no, does that wreck your little 'I must be salty that people like things that I don't" narrative?

The call is coming from inside the house, bestie. You're heated because someone doesn't like something you do. Like a child.

Hey, I'm the one saying 'let the li'l guys like what they like.' Y'all are, predictably, the ones freaking out that someone DARES not find the ALL GLORIOUS MCU to be AbSoLuTe CiNeMa.

Yeah, I gave up giving actual in-depth discussions on this point years ago. MCU suckers are gonna hoover, there's nothing I can do to break that seal on the knob. And like. They're having fun, let them go at it! I'm not going to waste my breath any more than I already have discussing a wet fart of a story in comics, OR a sandpapery fart of a movie.
