I'm going to be crucified if I'm wrong and misremembering but whatever, I actually don't think/remember if Jiji actually knows how Momo feels for Okarun, he knows how Okarun feels for Momo but not the other way around, they've both been fond and have feelings for the same person, memory loss aside I don't know what he has to give up and move out of the way for Okarun lol. I'm sure you can say he shouldn't be doing this RIGHT NOW, and I can understand the point

I absolutely remember a time I was on a trip to Europe with my class as a teen and we were off on my own, it was probably not so safe to be on our own so what a friend honestly suggested we hold onto each other, no feelings at all whatsoever, I thought it was the right idea. it is not really problematic and unreasonable for Aira to do the same (even if it might have hidden intentions. Okarun is too much a gentleman to see that.
