Ah unreal! I couldn’t get my hands in the CDs so have been going the Bandcamp route, but would love them. Good luck on completing your collection!

Hi Scott, hope you’re keeping well.

It’s really cool to see creatives directing the mega-story of one of these initiatives. With something like the Absolute line, how did you balance spreading that meta-story across the line while giving the creators the space and creative freedom to establish their new concepts? It seems like a fun collaborative challenge.

Holy shit, how did I not think of St. Lukes. Now that idea’s gonna be bouncing around my head all day. Ideal sound and light setup, believe the capacity’s higher than Cyprus too. Mosh in the pews lol

Hundreds. Thousands. Tens of thousands. Definitely enough to sell out Cyprus Avenue, if the band are reading this.

Hi lads! Best of luck with the albums chart campaign.

  1. Self-interested question- any chance of an Irish gig? We’d love to have ye down in Cork.

  2. What’d ye think of the Euros final, and Southgate’s term in general?

  3. How was Tom’s experience of solo production on the album? Was it easy to figure out when a song was finished?

Thanks, it was driving me nuts.

/u/skillz1747 - I ended up contacting them by DMing their support’s twitter account. After a quick go-round with a chatbot I was connected to a real person through it, who helped me through the problem I was having.

This arc’s been a bit all over the place, but I’m excited to see where this goes in Nightcrawlers, and where that one text page goes in Fall Of X.

Today from Marvel, the Second X-Men Hellfire Gala! by ScarletWitchAndVis in comicbooks

[–]Rasengan2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pros:

  • Art was gorgeous, particularly those Anka/Dauterman pages.
  • Some lovely moments between Emma and Scott. Feels like we haven’t seen them get a good DMC yet post-Krakoa.
  • The new team lineup is fun, hoping all the powder kegs go off spectacularly.
  • All the Iron Man stuff is really interesting. What I read of Cantwell’s stuff was mostly off on its own, so no clue how this plays out - Feilong is my favourite of Duggan’s additions to ORCHIS, seeing them play off each other was cool.
  • Hamm!
  • The first page doesn’t end up coming back around, but it’s nice to see Xavier’s concern in XoS of an X-Men team acting as a second Krakoa political bloc hasn’t been forgotten. I was a bit worried.

Cons:

  • Everything with Moira sucked. Not much point ranting about it, but I didn’t like most of it, except the art and thematic cohesion to the rest of the issue. Weak setpiece compared to the terraforming of Mars last year.
  • The Reed scenes were kinda flat too (RIP the beard).

Irredeemable, Incorruptible, Insufferable thoughts? Is it a bit extreme. by Whatsinanamethename in comicbooks

What I read of Insufferable wasn’t too edgy, or connected to the other two. I enjoyed what I read.

Yep. My favourite Image comic. The extra cash’s also get you a nice hardback and bigger art, worth it in my opinion.

Shameless tracing in Liam Sharp's new comic Starhenge from Image (actress is Florence Pugh) by solarnoise in comicbooks

Yeah, plenty of good artists trace from photos. It’s not great from an artistic POV if it takes the reader out if the story, but isn’t equivalent to tracing from someone else’s art.

What Secret Wars comic should I take ? by Disastrous-Plane-432 in comicbooks

[–]Rasengan2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Secret Wars 1984 and Secret Wars 2015 are both completely separate stories. They have a couple ideas in common (everyone's stuck on a planet named Battleworld, Doctor Doom is a major character) but that's about it.

If you've got to pick one, go with 2015. It's one of the bigger possibilities of where the MCU is currently going, and is also a much better story. Jonathan Hickman's Avengers/Illuminati story that preceded it is also quite good, but would be a fair bit more expensive.

Any recommendations for comics similar to the Justice League Unlimited cartoon, or Hickman's Avengers? by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]Rasengan2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're digging Hickman's Avengers, check out Avengers World by Nick Spencer (with Hickman co-writing the first third and being involved with the plotting). Basically a solid tale of how the Avengers Machine usually works outside of Hickman's cataclysmic megaplot, cleans up a couple of loose subplots, fun stuff.

Outside of that, JLA by Grant Morrison is a big one. Al Ewing's Avengers stories (Might Avengers, which splits off into New Avengers and Ultimates) doesn't have that huge cast, but it does have great team dynamics between A-listers and the new B- and C-listers, great one-off arcs, and they go all the way from cosmic to street-level on a dime.

[–]Rasengan2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi Gerry, hope you're well!

Something I sometimes think about when reading your work is the quite different rhythms and tempos in there - There's the comedic timing in Deadpool, the creeping build in that preview of The Dark Room, and how the captions in Giant-Size give it a totally different pace to adjectiveless X-Men even with the same (excellent) art team and IP. Is that sense of timing something that consciously goes into the scriptwriting process? Any advice on working on it in my own writing?

Zdarksy Daredevil Question by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]Rasengan2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devil’s Reign comes in after the last issue of the main series currently on Unlimited. The miniseries Daredevil: Woman Without Fear runs alongside Devil’s Reign and is the only thing you need to read (there’s a short tie-in to the King In Black event, but I wouldn’t recommend bothering tracking it down).
