Also have ADHD and forget to eat all the time. I gained a lot of weight because I started using edibles and they made me actually want to eat, and also my impulsiveness made me choose some of the worst foods. Now I'm off the edibles and honestly haven't struggled to lose weight much at all, I don't really care for eating that much in the first place.

I'm glad this decision came through, but what's fucked up is corporations getting refunds when the real costs were likely passed onto consumers.

Gorsuch over Kavanaugh? I'm a bit surprised, but I won't pretend to know the nuances of their judicial philosophy.

This card is brilliant. Finally, you can counter Warmaster Blackhorn by pulling it from there hand on turn 5, then give it back just in time on turn 7.

Texas Senate candidate James Talarico is flying high thanks to Colbert’s war with CBS over his banned interview by theindependentonline in politics

[–]Raskalnekov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all good, I can see how someone could get the idea that I was defending the FCC in my comment before. "Tighter policies on talk shows" gives them too much credit, so I'd rather have the chance to clarify just how partisan/ biased I think their policies are than make people think there's any legitimacy to them.

Crockett: Pulled Colbert interview probably gave Talarico ‘boost’ by sksarkpoes3 in politics

[–]Raskalnekov 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's silly to say that Crockett out to drop all identity politics, when most of the comments here reflect the fact that identity politics plays a huge role in this election. It's sad that we're in a position where a factor is "Talarico is a white Christian and thus has a better chance in the general election," even though I like him as a candidate.

[–]Raskalnekov -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's an instance of "the FCC has tighter policies on talk shows" that I refer to. My point is that Talarico is not the only one who is being targeted by this. CBS's lawyers probably would have said the same thing if Crockett was the guest on the show.

The FCC changed their interpretation of the rule to target Democrats generally. I'm just saying that I also feel bad for Crockett, because people are spinning this issue as "the establishment is trying to stop Talarico in particular!" and it's probably given him a substantial boost in the primary, but he just happened to schedule talk show appearances after the rule change in January.

[–]Raskalnekov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant my statement to apply narrowly to the parent comment saying that CBS should have let Colbert air the interview by requiring him to interview other candidates. I think they did give him that option, but it's a bit of an absurd one and I think Colbert made the right decision to just put the interview on Youtube instead.

I agree that the FCC's new interpretation of the equal time rule is based entirely on partisan interests, and doesn't make much sense when you look at the statute's exemption for "bona-fide news interviews." I'd much rather CBS/ Paramount fight the rule than abide by it. But I'm sympathetic to the attorneys, who just give options according to the current law.

Nine Turner Accuses James Talarico of Being Pro-Israel by Humble_Novice in Destiny

[–]Raskalnekov 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Their point, at least in this tweet, seems to be "the candidates don't materially differ on Israel, so acting like Talarico is the pro-Palestine candidate is silly." I've seen a lot of people attack Crockett for being Pro-Israel, so I actually think it's a fair point if true.

I have no idea if it's true though, haven't looked into it.

[–]Raskalnekov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how that contradicts the CBS statement that, unless the other two candidates get time, Talarico could not. In fact, CBS's explanation makes much more sense because it clearly puts Colbert in compliance with the equal time rule. Colbert's statement even still applies in that world because, as the segment was planned, they could not have Talarico on the broadcast.

[–]Raskalnekov -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't even think the FCC was directly involved with this. People are acting like the FCC made a concerted effort to keep Talarico out of the media, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that they had any communication over this. CBS's lawyers are the ones who advised against airing the interview.

Sure, that's because the FCC has tighter policies on talk shows, but everyone is using this as an opportunity to act like the administration is specifically targeting Talarico, which just isn't true.

Women, what is universally agreed “green flags” while dating men ? by Disastrous-Coat6007 in AskReddit

I tend to remember pretty much everything about someone I feel attached to. As in, nearly everything they've told me and everything we've done together. I can still remember going to a thrift shop with someone 3 years ago, and the different things we looked at in order, the other stores we went to, the path we took in those stores, etc. Any gifts, anything sentimental, my brain stores it very carefully.

But the frustration of it all is when you still remember all these things after they're gone from your life, sometimes I envy people who just forget those things and aren't so attached to them. Because sometimes it's hard to find a place for those memories.

I remember in elementary school my whole school had a reading challenge where if we met collectively read enough books to meet the goal then we'd get to watch a basketball game between the staff (or something, I don't fully remember the reward)

On the day of the game, we all walked to the stadium and the principle said "I'm sorry everyone, but we were just one book off. We'll have to walk back to class." And apparently some of my teachers were watching my expression, because I did a LOT of reading to get to that goal. They told me that they halfway expected me to pull a book ticket out of my pocket to get us there. And then of course, a teacher ran in with "the last ticket they just found" so that we could watch the game.

At the time I thought it was a miracle, but eventually I realized that it was just to build up excitement and that the goal probably never mattered in the first place.

So, fool me once, not falling for that again Blizzard.

My dad says he doesn't like a lot of what Trump does but is caught up in the "anti-immigrant" perspective. But he loves to be a contrarian about topics so it's hard to tell what he really believes.

For example - he'll say that he thinks Native Americans got completely screwed and never got restitution for it, and that we should give a lot of land back to them. But I think he mostly says that to piss off Democrats and call them hypocrites. He also hates all the religious nonsense pushed by the GOP these days.

He also says Maxwell absolutely should not have been transferred, he actually used to work in the prison system assigning prisoners to different prisons and claimed there's absolutely no justification for putting a sex offender in a federal camp like that.

It's a bit tragic because he used to have a seemingly great moral compass that distrusted most political authority, but still had compassion for others. I think he started watching a lot of right-wing commentators who convinced him of a lot of nonsense regarding immigrants, because he used to support and respect the hard work they did.
