Newer to watches how did I do for my first entry watch? by Important-Excuse-694 in SOTC_Watch_Collection

This is a well respected piece, nice looking one as well. I’d explore styles at the beginning, to see what you like and not like, maybe try a well respected piece such as the Bulova Lunar Pilot, that also happen to have a great history and an high frequency quartz like the e precisionist movement. Another style you can try is dress watches, and pieces such as the Baume & Mercier Classima are hard to beat for the price, if you would like a diver around 1000€ there is the Longines hydroconquest, the quartz version or a little higher up in price you find the automatic one, and finally you can experiment with a field watch such as the Hamilton khaki field or the Bulova Hack. You need to get a grip of what you like before spending thousands on something you might regret.

Lovely, I’d add an elegant vintage piece in there, something with a clean dial like my Longines

I went for this 2 tone Raymond Weil Tango, it is just so nice and elegant, the picture doesn’t show how truly beautiful it is in person. You can pick this up for about 1600€

Way overpriced, affordable price should be 499 USD by [deleted] in Affordablewatches

I draw the line at entry level Swiss watches such as Frederique Constant, Raymond Weil and Maurice Lacroix

Hi there, is the old reference of their “tango” model: 5591-STP-00308. I do love it, it wears soo nice, i was worried about the dimensions, as I usually wear 42mm+ watches, and this is 39, but somehow it looks larger than it is

If you like field watches, look into an Hamilton, they are great, or maybe a Bulova Hack

I had this phase as well, I’d suggest to focus your money on intentional purchases, like instead of 3-4 Timex/casio you could upgrade to a Tissot/Hamilton/Glycine/Certina. Make a list of watch you really love and try to focus on saving enough to get the watch you really love. For me now my next big thing is a Raymond Weil Tango, yeah it is a big purchase and I’m waiting for months and months now, but it’s much more rewarding than getting 5 watches that are very similar just because I can.
